Wow, you know – they’re right.
How can we call ourselves a democracy, even while we deny the right to vote to some of our most vulnerable citizens? We will not fulfill the essence of the constitution until toddlers and those in a vegetative coma are fully enfranchised.
That, of course, includes criminals.
What’s that? You’re worried that all of these people will vote for the Democrats as a block?
Tsk, tsk, tsk. That’s just a conspiracy theory.
Giving criminals the right to vote is a left wing conspiracy! Also, wear this tin foil suit to protect yourself against the mind-control rays.
One month after the state Supreme Court threw out his blanket clemency order, Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced Monday that he has individually restored voting rights to 13,000 felons and is working on doing the same for a total of about 200,000.
McAuliffe (D) said he had found a way to comply with the court’s order while addressing “an issue of basic justice.”
So what if the governor who did this is a Democrat? It’s just a coincidence. Stop being so paranoid.
These people will surely make informed, responsible voters. Look! They’re already working on adopting a healthy lifestyle for themselves.
“I personally believe in the power of second chances and in the dignity and worth of every single human being,” he said beside a civil rights monument on Capitol Square. “These individuals are gainfully employed. They send their children and their grandchildren to our schools. They shop at our grocery stores and they pay taxes. And I am not content to condemn them for eternity as inferior, second-class citizens.”
Hmmm, I’m not sure about all that, buddy. I’m gonna have to look at your numbers first. My initial impression is that ex-felons don’t pay a lot of taxes. But then again, I’m a bigoted Nazi, so it could be the prejudice talking.
One way or another, though, what’s certain is that those 13,000 felons (and soon to be 200,000) will not be voting for Trump in the upcoming election. After all, the Glorious Leader has billed himself as the “law and order” candidate, which I doubt will appeal much even to the White ex-felons.
This is a transparent ploy by a Democrat operative to fraudulently undermine the Donald’s campaign.
These rat-like goblins are trying to sabotage our operation!
