Five more Pal prisoners go on hunger strike

Days of Palestine, West Bank –Five more Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli jails announced on Monday going on hunger strike.

Israel Prison Services (IPS) said that the five Palestinian prisoners had begun an open-ended hunger strike to protest their continued custody under Israeli “administrative detention” policy.

Qadura Fares, head of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society, an NGO, confirmed that the five Palestinian prisoners began their open-ended hunger strike on Sunday.

Israeli policy of “administrative detention” allows prison authorities to hold suspects without charges or trial for renewable periods.

According to official Palestinian figures, over 6,500 Palestinian detainees are currently languishing in jail throughout the self-proclaimed Jewish state.

Israeli forces kidnapped on Monday fiver Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike for more than 13 days and transferred them into an unknown place.
