FM Zarif to leave for Turkey on Sunday

IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is scheduled to leave Iran for Turkey on Sunday to hold talks with Turkish and Russian counterparts on the latest developments in Syria.

Zarif together with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and the Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov are supposed to attend one-day meeting on Astana talks in Antalya.

This is while presidents of Iran, Turkey and Russia are to hold meeting on the latest developments in Syria on November 22 in Sochi, Russia.

So far, seven rounds of Syrian talks have been held in Astana under Iran, Russia and Turkey.

Seventh round of Syrian peace talks was held in Astana on October 30-31, which brought together guarantor states of peace, Syrian representative, opponents of the Syrian government, with UN, US and Jordan envoys participating as observers.
