Tomorrow afternoon the nation will be gripped by the spectacle of The Grand National — the world’s greatest and most thrilling steeplechase.

Whether you’re a seasoned racing fan or a novice having a first-time flutter, you can still make tomorrow’s race at Aintree a little more exciting with our fun sweepstake to play at home or in the office.

HOW TO RUN YOUR OFFICE SWEEPSTAKE

Print out the names of the runners here, cut them into individual pieces and put them in a bag.

Decide how much it costs to enter (£1 per horse, say). Once the horse is drawn, make a note of the person’s name against their selection.

The Mail’s tipster Sam Turner offers his views on the runners below.

As a horse owner I can safely say that if they don’t want to do something, they won’t! Many TBs love racing and enjoy galloping across the countryside over fences. These racehorses get wonderful care and are treated like prized athletes, receiving the best veterinary care, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy etc.
The ex-racers I know have second careers as hacks or eventers and are well-behaved, as they have been used to hustle and bustle from a young age. Of course there are always exceptions, with many being started too young, or worked too hard, but this is true for every sport and does not reflect the majority.

About as entertaining as dog fighting.

I love the Grand National, its part of our history and the rules are there to check only the best can compete. But If the jockey can sense the horse doesn’t have a chance they should pull up within the first few fences. And before all you do gooders trill oh but it’s cruel, I’m a horse owner and have trained racehorses. They get top quality care 24/7 and I’ve had a few where you can tell they really want to race and oh boy they love winning! Organisedconfusion to win this year, it’s about time a female jockey took the crown.- Kate, UK, 13/4/2012 11:33 -I pitty your horse then! im a horse owner to and i compete yet i dont need to beat the 5**t out my horse to make it perform, yeah they really enjoy it – idiot!!!

maybe there should be a sweepstake on how many horses are going to die, in this ridiculous, cruel, so called ‘favourite race’.

I run the ‘Glue-Stick’ sweepstakes. We don’t bet on who wins, we bet on which ones get shot.

CANT WAIT! Who cares if a horse dies!!! as long as its an exciting race, all you animal loving freaks need to GET A LIFE!

Print your chart off and you’ll be able to mark off the horses as they are whipped, stumble and die on the track.

My thoughts are that if the horse was’nt capable of staying the course, it would’nt be entered.

Just how many horses will be killed this year? What are the odds?
