Iran FM confers with Kuwaiti Emir

IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with Emir of Kuwait Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Wednesday.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the International conference on reconstruction of Iraq held in Kuwait.

During the meeting, Ahmad Al-Sabah described as important Iran’s role in fighting Daesh and also in helping maintain stability and economic development in Iraq.

He also expressed hope for regional countries to solve problems and disputes through negotiations.

Zarif, for his part, appreciated Kuwaiti Emir’s efforts in mediation in current crises in the region.

He hoped for these efforts to bring about good results.

Both sides stressed the importance of developing bilateral ties and increasing direct relations between the senior Iranian and Kuwaiti officials.

The event aimed at gathering financial aids to reconstruct war-torn areas, paving the way for presenting basic solutions to internal conflicts, renovation of Iraqi national and local capacities, reinforcing society and balancing the reconstruction process and the national reconciliation program as well as attracting foreign investment.
