‘Media swayed public opinion on Boston’

“These individuals were tried in the court of public opinion. They were guilty and they had to be proven innocent. Now, if that’s a precedent for the rest of the citizenry in the United States, then we are in a very sorry state indeed,” said James F. Tracy, an associate professor at Florida Atlantic University.

The scholar said the US police and media have fabricated major events regarding the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings in Massachusetts, in order to “institute martial law in a metropolitan area”.

“It is somewhat difficult to believe the extent to which, I think, the authorities and major media in the US believe the public are gullible and are willing to accept a story such as this. So again, I will be very suspicious of what we see from here on out,” said Tracy.

On Wednesday, authorities arrested three additional men suspected of aiding alleged bombers Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his brother Tamerlan in connection to the Boston Marathon attacks which killed three people and wounded over 200 on April 15.

The two brothers are also accused of killing a police officer on the campus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology on April 18.

“There is no substantial evidence that Tsarnaev brothers carried out this crime that has been produced. There are a number of real problems with the overall scenario as it has been presented by the Justice Department, by the FBI, by the Boston police,” Tracy concluded.
