Video shows Libyans celebrating Stevens’ death, NY Times claims men are rescuing him

A new video which shows Libyans apparently celebrating the death of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens as his body is recovered from a U.S. Consulate in Benghazi following last week’s attack has been spun by the New York Times to portray the men as rescuers who are trying to save the Ambassador’s life, when in fact they are reveling in his death.
The clip shows a crowd of men attempting to remove Stevens’ body from a window of the American mission after it was attacked with rocket propelled grenades by Islamic militants last week.
“The witnesses said residents drawn to the scene had forced open the window and found Mr. Stevens behind a locked iron gate, pulled him out and taken him to the hospital. In the video, none say anything that shows ill will,” reports the Times, claiming that the men are chanting “Alive, Alive! God is great.”
However, according to an alternative translation provided to us by a native Arabic speaker, there is no evidence whatsoever that the men are pleased Stevens is still alive or are trying to rescue him.
Indeed, the video appears to show the men celebrating the fact that he is dead. Stevens is hauled out of the window and dumped on the floor as the men stick cameras in his face, fist pump the air and chant, “Allauha Akbar” (God is great), which is routinely shouted by Islamic radicals following a successful attack.

There is no indication whatsoever that the men are attempting to save Stevens’ life or get him to a hospital.
Right at the start of the clip, the men are heard shouting “sawer sawer,” meaning “film, film,” hardly the actions of people concerned with saving a dying man.
“At no point does someone say ‘he’s alive’ after the body is pulled out,” our Arabic speaker tells us, adding that the men seem very excited to see Stevens’ body, overwhelmingly suggesting they are reveling in his death, not trying to save his life.
The video also contradicts reports that Stevens managed to escape the consulate but was killed either en route or inside a nearby safe house.
The New York Times’ translation of the video, which has basically allowed them to flip the truth behind the footage on its head, appears to have originated from a Twitter user who supported both the US-backed assault in Libya and the attempt to topple President Assad in Syria by supporting the same Islamic militants.
The NY Times’ brazen effort to spin the footage is another apparent attempt to disguise the fact that the same radical Muslims the Obama administration financed and armed in Libya are now killing U.S. Ambassadors – a foreign policy disaster that many commentators are speculating could cost Obama the election.

The greatest threat to the earth is the communist lead Islamic diaper heads that use media such as The New York Times and Al-Jazeera to spread the evil of the likes of Obama and George Soros.

I recommend you do your own research. Blindly following PrisonPlanet is just as blind as following the mainstream media. This article is incorrect and you can easily find out for yourself by doing a little research.

Incog99, you’re right on point. Anyone believing in that fish-wrap of a paper is in their own universe. I use to think that they ought to be sued for their misinformation. However, this wouldn’t get very far because the CIA has a sitting staff at the NY Times. Indeed, it is a mouthpiece for Washington’s propaganda.
Hence, it is this legal immunity that the government provides the NY Times. Abeit, there is no public immunity when it comes to recognizing the NY Times’ repeated offences. Indeed, they are losing viewership and advertising business like the rest of the MSM. To me, this represents something far better than a lawsuit. It represents their loss of revenue and signals their inevitable demise.
AJ rightly goes after the MSM like that of the NY Times. This dinosaur needs to join the rest of those extinct species.
If you disagree with the reporting here provide the “research” that says otherwise. Don’t give the MSM as “evidence” because long ago they became less than credible in their reporting.

I’m sure the Ambassador was loved by all Libyans for the freedom and democracy his nation brought to the Libyan people.
Stevens was a part of Murder Inc. and got what was coming to him. Just wish it was Hillary.

I am Libyan. I am a fluent Arabic speaker and a longtime Prison Planet reader and I think the work on this site is generally excellent. HOWEVER:
You NEED to take this article down. I can tell you now that they are helping the Ambassador: They are celebrating that he is alive and one of them can be heard urging them to be GENTLE and get him to a MEDICAL CENTRE.
Your coverage of the Arab Spring has been, with all due respect, no different to the Neocon coverage found all over their blogs. Please correct this article. There is no shame in being wrong. Journalists correct themselves all the time. It’s important that you’re able to do that.
I’m not certain that your native Arabic speaker is a) being honest with and b) understands the Libyan dialect enough to hear what is happening. Even I as a fluent Libyan speaker had to listen hard to make sure I knew what was happening.
You can’t just tar my people like this, Paul, it’s not fair. And it also reflects badly on the standards of this site.

An interesting comment (we don’t seem to get many of those around these parts). However, I’m not sure what all the fuss is about anyway, to quote Jesse Ventura, “He’s dead.”
I would also add this phrase you write: ‘Allauha Akbar’ is so hugely incorrect that no ‘native speaker’ would render it like that. You’re being taken for a fool, Paul.
It is ‘Allahu’. ‘Allauha’ is nonsense Arabic and the kind of thing a beginner in the language would write.
I always recommend this site to my friends, but the way you’re going about dealing with Middle East issues is seriously very worrying.

…So at what point dose the New York Times think his rescuers ASS RAPPED him?
Cuz I find that odd behavior for “rescuers”, I myself as a younger man saved someone from drowning and at no point in the rescue did I sodomize them. Maybe I was doing it wrong.
Except that they lowered him out of the window (didn’t toss him) set him down and clearly checked his pulse and he was indeed sent to the hospital. That some douche there screamed allah akbar means nothing really as it can be two things, we found a dead American or we found and retrieved the body which is what we were looking for. Wanting to film it is common also as its their 15min of fame. The people at his feet and the ones who propped him up and the man who checked his pulse are not smiling and have concerned looks on their faces. One skinny douche bag of about 15 years old did the fist pump crap he doesn’t represent everyone there. Not to stick up for the NYT but poison planet is hardly any better. Nothing can really be made of this video either way. However looking at all of it he is set down his pulse is checked and he was sent to the hospital. That’s hardly like knife rapping Gaddafi and parading his stripped body around. This whole story is a distraction from WHY he was killed and WHO really did it and HOW. PS my Arabic speakers (plural) say they said easy him down get him to a medical center.

Well Sparky, I dunno. I’d’ve thought that checking the pulse of a man who is blue-in-the-face-dead with apparent postmortem lividity and then taking him to a hospital might be, you know, acting?
