The yacht is now semi-submerged on the seabed approximately 15 metres from the beach, according to a statement made by the local Coast Guard.

Authorities have now contained the yacht with a floating sea wall and local media reports that no pollution has been immediately indicated. Five passengers were safely rescued from the boat and have been transferred to the local port.

007 was delivered in 2006 by Bodrum-based shipyard Aegean Yacht as a 40 metre yacht. She has been extended twice since delivery, bringing her total LOA up to 49 metres.
