UK hostage’s family reaches out to ISIL

The family of British aid worker David Haines believed held by ISIL Takfiri terrorists in Syria has called on the terror group to “make contact” with them.

“We have sent messages to you to which we have not received a reply. We are asking those holding David to make contact with us,” said a statement on behalf of the family that was released Saturday by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).

Elements of the Takfiri terror group have threatened to kill Haines and have not responded to any of the family’s attempts to make contact so far, according to the FCO statement.

Haines, 44, was captured while working for Acted aid agency in Syria in March 2013. The organization asserts that he had previously served in Libya and South Sudan.

The ISIL terrorists have beheaded two US journalists, posting the evidence online in gruesome videos featuring a masked Takfiri terrorist with a British accent.

UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond has said the FCO will be doing “everything” they could to protect Haines.

Educated at Perth Academy secondary school, he has worked for aid agencies in various trouble spots of the world.

He was reportedly in Libya during its civil unrest in 2011, working as head of mission for Handicap International, which helps disabled people in poverty and conflict zones around the world.
