Dear Linda,

I was given your name and address by a friend who has heard you on radio – I believe the “Coast to Coast” radio program. I am sending you two attached jpeg pics my brother’s wife took during a ski vacation eight years ago in February 2004, at the Mammoth ski resort, a famous ski spot for Californians.

Mammoth Mountain ski resort is the upper left red circle. Across the border into Nevada not far to the southeast is the Nellis Air Force Range Nevada Test Site and its famous Area 51 associated with UFO technologies and bodies north of Las Vegas. West of Las Vegas are the Navy’s China Lake Naval Weapons Center near Ridgecrest (red circle at map center), the Army’s Fort Irwin and the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at Twentynine Palms northeast of Los Angeles.

My brother and family were on the middle of a ski slope, making their way down the mountain, when they stopped for a family pic. My brother’s wife is the photographer in the family. My sister-in-law snapped two pictures back-to-back (automatic SLR camera).

As for the taking of the actual photos in question, my brother’s wife was stooping down to take this first picture with the camera in the “landscape” orientation at 9:35:32 AM, on February 19, 2004, at the Mammoth Ski resort. The picture is of my brother and his two kids, but I have pixelated their faces for privacy reasons. The rest of the photo is untouched (ie. not photoshopped) and neither is the second photo.

original time stamp) at the Mammoth Ski Resort in California.

After taking that first photo, she then stood up, turned the camera 90 degrees, and

11 seconds later
took the next picture from a “portrait” orientation. It’s that second photo which has the anomaly. As you can see, the clouds, trees, mountains, and markings on the snow are the same in both pics. There’s just one thing additional in the second pic….the craft above the mountain line. Strange!

Thursday morning, February 19, 2004, at 9:35:43 AM (according to our camera’s
original time stamp) at the Mammoth Ski Resort in California.

There is no lodge or building structure near them. The object is well above the ski lift, and over an open valley. The sun is reflecting off the object at the same angle as sunshine on the mountain behind the disc. I asked my brother if someone threw something into the air above the slope from him, or from the ski lift. He said, “No way! The ski lift doesn’t come close to where we were standing on the mountain, plus the object is not over us; it’s out over the valley, between us and the background mountain.”

Cropped close-up of disc craft by Earthfiles.

As soon as the family returns from the event/vacation, my brother’s wife doesn’t take long to upload pictures from the camera to her computer. She was going through the ski pics after uploading them when she spotted the weird object (silver disc) in the one picture and called my brother into the study to take a look. He chuckled and said something about it being bizarre. It looked like a hat, but was too shiny, and really was too high in altitude, and too far from other people to be a hat thrown into the air. Upon increasing the magnification it didn’t really get any clearer for him, but he’s convinced it’s metallic due to the reflection from the sun. The pic still remains on his wife’s computer.

Subject:  3 Diamond-Shaped UFOs in Quebec, Canada
Date:   March 4, 2012
To:   [email protected]

Hello Linda

I have listened to your broadcasts on Coast to Coast AM several times. I am writing to tell you about a wonderful experience my husband and I shared in August of 2011. We live in Vaudreuil, Quebec, Canada, a suburb about 15 miles west of downtown Montreal.

Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, Canada, southwest of Montreal (upper right red circle).
The New York state border is the grey line that runs horizontally
and then southwest along the St. Lawrence River between Canada and U. S.

Last summer my husband and I started sitting outside back of our house after dark and watching the skies with 7×50 wide angle binoculars. Just about every night there were bright lights crossing the sky, some of which were likely satellites. However, on several occasions we witnessed those lights changing directions, lighting up or traveling in pairs. Definitely not satellites.

Well Linda, this one particular mid-August 2011 night we had a sighting that we will remember for the rest of our lives and I wish so much that I could experience again. We were sitting beside each other facing east. It was 9:20 PM. We had been watching the skies for about an hour when I put my binoculars on my lap and turned to look at my husband who just then cried out, “What the F#$ am I looking at?!!?”

I swooped up my binoculars and looked up and there they were. The single most incredible thing I have ever seen in my life!! Three – not one – but THREE diamond-shaped craft coming right towards us out of the east. They flew right over our heads so close I felt like through the binoculars I could reach up and touch them. As they crossed over head I jumped up, spun around never taking my eyes off them and watched them continue west. Now without the binoculars, they were clearly visible to the naked eye.

Top three triangles sketched the way the craft looked
“approaching from the East.” Middle three triangles sketched
the way they looked “directly overhead.” Bottom three triangles
sketched the way the craft looked “as they veered up and to
the north.” Estimated length was 100 feet and width 75 feet.
Illustration by Carole of diamond craft as they moved
above
the home in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, Canada, in August 2011.

At that very moment a commercial airliner came out of the west and the three craft swooped up and veered right at an incredible speed and disappeared into the night sky. The airplane then crossed overhead and within 2-3 minutes what my husband and I believed to be 2 military jets shot across the sky behind our house. We have never before seen military jets in the sky around our home, nor since.

Additional comments in March 10, 2012 email with the illustration above:

I am attaching a pencil and crayon sketch of the craft we saw – as close a rendition as I was able to sketch.

We had a front/underside view of the crafts as they approached, an underside view as they passed directly overhead and a back/underside view as they continued west bound. Our view of the side/top was only for a fleeting moment as the crafts flew up and veered right (north) before disappearing. My impression was that the tops of the crafts would have sloped up only slightly to form a pyramid shape, but again the view of the top/side was so brief that I may be mistaken.

Their color. The best way I can describe the color and appearance would be…do you remember the glow in the dark plastic rings or toys we had as children? We would close ourselves in the closet to see them glow. The craft appeared to be lit from the interior. They were a luminescent creamy yellow color – almost transparent but not – yet you could not mistake that they were of solid structure. They were not organic, they did not morf or change appearance. The color/glow remained consistent. They did not have any bright spot lights, no blinking or flashing, no strobing.

Linda they were absolutely beautiful! I would estimate their size each to have been 75ft wide x 100ft long. This would be an estimate though, they may have been larger, they were definitely not smaller. They were completely silent.

As mentioned in my original email, they came from the east in a formation and all three were clearly visible – each beside each other but slightly back from the first.

As they flew directly overhead they had aligned side by side # # # and continued in this formation as they flew west and we watched them without binoculars. My impression about the triangles was they were friendlies, intelligent, and I believe they knew we were watching and they had come for our benefit. This fly by/over was a performance for us!

When the commercial aircraft appeared flying directly towards the craft/us, the crafts increased altitude. The craft that would have been at the far right, the one that had led the way in, veered north with the remaining two following immediately. All three disappeared.

Within only a few moments we were astounded to see two military jets flying from east to west. They went overhead as did the craft but they continued westward and did not veer north as the craft had done. These were absolutely military jets. There was no mistaking the sound of the engines and we even saw what we thought were the after-burners.

This event took place above our home in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, Canada, on August 18, 2011. When I finally stopped cheering, waving my hands in the air and dancing all over the patio, I came to my senses and remembered to ask my husband what time he had on his watch. It was 9:22 p.m.

The entire event took place over 2-3 minutes, from the moment we spotted the three glorious craft to the time the military flew overhead.

Strange Sounds

The following emails are about strange sounds, beginning with important comments from a Seattle flight engineer about my February 28, 2012 Earthfiles “Strange Sounds in Washington State.” On Thursday, February 23, 2012, a low rumbling sound was heard in Arlington, Washington, from the morning through the night, growing in intensity at 7 PM, loud enough to cause several eyewitnesses to say it vibrated bones in their chests. Arlington is about 20 miles north of Everett;  about 35 miles southeast of the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island and Oak Harbor; and some 50 miles north of Seattle.

Arlington, Everett and Yakima are three Washington state cities
where people have heard strange sounds in February 2012. Arlington is about 20 miles
north of Everett; about 35 miles southeast of the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island (below)
and Oak Harbor; and some 50 miles north of Seattle. Arlington is about 185 miles from Yakima,
site of U. S. Marine Corps, Army Reserves and Washington National Guard.

Some 35 miles southwest of Arlington is the Naval Air Station
Whidbey Island (NASWI), Washington, a naval air station located in three
geographically separate facilities on the northern third of Whidbey Island
and Oak Harbor. NASWI was commissioned as an active U.S. Navy
installation on September 21, 1942. The main portion of the base is called
Ault Field; a second section is the Seaplane Base; the third section is Naval
Outlying Landing Field (NOLF) south of Ault Field primarily used for Field
Carrier Landing Practice (FCLP) by carrier-based jet aircraft. NASWI
currently supports MH-60S Seahawk helicopters, EA-18G Growlers,
EA-6B Prowlers, P-3C Orions, EP-3E ARIES IIs and C-9 Skytrain aircraft.

Subject:   Roaring noise in Seattle area
Date:   March 5, 2012
To:   [email protected]

Hello Linda:

In reference to the low rumbling sounds reported in Arlington near Seattle, Washington –
I, too, heard the sound(s). Until a very short time ago I worked for a company in Seattle, and I live within one mile of  an aerospace corporation’s airport and 4 miles from Seatac Airport. As a flight engineer, I have flown on all of the aircraft tested at a large aerospace company. I am acutely aware of jet engine sounds.

I also heard the rumbling on at least two occasions reported on your Earthfiles web site. At first I thought they were jet engine testing, but I immediately knew it could not be testing since there are strict noise abatement hours for engine testing. These sounds occurred outside of the hours allowed. It struck me as odd that these loud noises were so deep, extended, and beyond what I have ever heard in my flight engineer work before. In retrospect, I don’t think they came from an airport. They seemed low in altitude, but I cannot explain why I think that.

This is definitely a mystery, and I doubt we’ll know what caused it. But I can say what it was not.  It was not originating at either airport here in Seattle. So it was either high up, or something otherwise. It was not a military fighter jet – I know those engines. I am also a musician and perhaps that’s why I noticed it, but it was quite loud. Anyone could hear it. In fact, it was annoyingly loud and I thought it was breaking noise abatement rules. The closest sound to compare it to might be a rocket engine?

Please do not publish my name or email or occupation. Due to career/reputation issues, I wish to remain anonymous.

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada (upper left red circle)
is about 1400 miles northwest of Montreal, Canada.

Hello Linda:

It is 1:30 AM and I am in Winnipeg, Canada. I have been awake for the past hour and a half because the noises in the sky outside are coming through triple pane glass windows into my home. I am sleeping on the second floor and It sounds like a jet engine is revving continuously and the rumbling moves across the sky. In the last hour and a half, I have seen only one airplane fly overhead.

I am a teacher and I have had students tell me their families are hearing this type of sound on an ongoing basis – and some adolescents are becoming unnerved. Would love to find an explanation for this.

Subject:   Can Confirm  Rumbling Sounds In San Bernardino In 2011
Date:   February 24, 2012
To:   Linda Moulton Howe [email protected]

Hi Linda –

Yes, I’ve heard about these sounds being heard all over after the 2012 New Year, but I had an experience very similar to some of the videos on You Tube. I was stunned after viewing the videos and felt wow! what I experienced IS “something.” In 2011, I twice heard super loud sounds that I would compare with a jet engine (each time the sound was the same), but it was so loud – it was everywhere – a constant volume for about I’d say 25 minutes. I thought at first it was a plane about to crash or flying extremely low since I live about two miles from what was Norton Air Force Base and is now San Bernardino International Airport.

San Bernardino (far left red circle) is north of Riverside, California, and southwest of
the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at Twentynine Palms (far right red circle).

After seeing no plane, I thought it might have been some planes firing up their jets, but I knew it was too loud to be that. Though when I heard it, I even knew then it was something very unusual and strange. Others heard it as well.

I didn’t inquire with authorities, but watched the San Bernardino Sun the next few days to see if anyone had reported hearing the strange sound. Nothing. I know authorities must have heard it – because it seemed to encompass the whole city. I was stupid and didn’t record it through video or sonically. If I hear it again, I will record it. This was not imagined nor only myself hearing it. There were no earthquakes. I figured it had something to do with the airport since it seemed to be coming from that direction – but it was ultra loud.

I can see the airport from where I live quite well and even brought out the binoculars and didn’t see any jets or blimps (we sometimes have them – thought even they could be filling one with air/gas) but nothing. Very interesting – since hearing the other sounds on YouTube I have been waiting to hear it again. No luck so far. This is a real phenomenon. What it means I have no idea, but nothing strange happened associated with the sound either before or afterward. Curious to see if you have any other people in my area who have heard it. I don’t recall dates, just remember that the sound was so loud I could hear it inside a building easily. When it remained constant, it alarmed me – but since nothing happened, I just went about my business after listening for about 5 minutes. I did notice the sound did not end for about 25 minutes. It made a definite impression.

Starting at the top of the red circles, Oak Harbor is the site of the Naval Air Station
Whidbey Island (NASWI) about 35 miles northwest of Arlington, Washington,
where
the low rumbling sounds were heard and recorded on February 23, 2012. [ See email 2 above.]
Other strange sound locations have been Everett south of Arlington;
Seattle about 50 miles south of Arlington; Tacoma and Olympia.

Hi Linda,
Just checking up on C2C when I noticed people were hearing strange sounds throughout Washington state last month. While I don’t have any audio evidence, I did hear this sound back in January 2012, at my residence in Olympia, WA. It corresponds with one of your other emails as it was around 2:30 AM when I noticed the noise outside. It sounded EXACTLY like your audio clips from Arlington, WA.  [ Editor’s Note:  See audio clips in email 2 above.]

I thought there was construction work going on somewhere in the vicinity, as I live just north of Lacey where a lot of urban sprawl is happening. But it was that constant low noise and didn’t stop. I just feel asleep through it. It was gone by morning. I also thought it could be something going on at Joint Base Lewis McChord, about 20 miles east. They sometimes do bomb drills at night (great for sleeping within an hour radius, I’m sure). I hope we can get down to the bottom of this. I’m very curious.

[ Editor’s Note:  Wikipedia – “Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) (IATA: TCM, ICAO: KTCM, FAA LID: TCM) (IATA: GRF, ICAO: KGRF, FAA LID: GRF) is a United States military facility located 9.1 miles (14.6 km) south-southwest of Tacoma, Washington. The facility is under the jurisdiction of the United States Army Joint Base Garrison, Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
The facility is an amalgamation of the United States Army Fort Lewis and the United States Air Force McChord Air Force Base which were merged on 1 February 2010.” ]

Hello, Linda. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada, in December 2011, I was @ work near Spring Mountain Valley View around 3 to 4 AM.

Spring Mountain Road and South Valley View Blvd. are upper left red circle. Downtown Las Vegas and the So. Las Vegas Blvd. casino strip are lower right red circle.

I and a friend were consumed with fear by an extremely loud horn sound. It seemed to be coming from the sky from the south, starting almost like a train horn out in the night, but quickly became an all consuming apocalyptic heralding trumpet/tuba/fog horn sound. I am not religious, but amazingly I found some that night.

The sounds from Kiev, Ukraine are the closest thing to what we heard. Whether it’s God – or a DARPA program – or not, I don’t know. Either way, I think it means a change, it doesn’t feel like it’s for the better, is coming. Keep up the incredible work.

Dear Linda

I’ve just listened to your report on Coast 2 Coast about the Unexplained Sounds. I’ve heard the videos on You Tube and they are disturbing and interesting. The reason I’m writing you is that I, too, have experienced a strange sound and it was about two weeks ago which would take us back to around the week of February 13, 2012. I live in Hanoverton, Ohio, which is a small town and very rural. I live on a highway in the rural area and traffic on this road is pretty quiet till about 4:30-5:00 AM.

Hanoverton, Ohio, is the lower left red circle south of Lake Erie, about 75 miles
southeast of Cleveland, and southwest of Toronto and Montreal, Canada.

It was the sound of “white noise and high pitched grinding” and it woke me out of a sound sleep between 2:30-3:00 am EST.  Now it didn’t last long, but I woke up with the “awareness” of this sound and totally “awake”; no grogginess. I rose up to get out of bed to investigate because it seemed to be all around – and then it was gone.

I didn’t make the connection to the “world sounds” at that time but I felt like “I was suppose to hear this,” like it was a message. I’ve not thought this until I listened to your report tonight and it hit me when other’s talked of the “white noise and the TV mumblings” – this seemed to be what I heard. Thanks Linda, love your reports, your website, watching you on Ancient Aliens and love all you do on Coast 2 Coast. Keep up the great work to keep us all “AWARE” of what is going on.

Updated 031512:  More Unexplained Loud Booms,
Now in Georgia and Alabama

Subject: Powerful Boom in Southeastern Georgia
Date: March 15, 2012
To: [email protected]

Linda, This morning at around 8:28 am, a large explosion or boom was heard over Brunswick GA. This boom shook window and doors throughout the entire county. Upon further reports, it was felt from as far west as 10 miles west of Waycross GA, south to Folkston GA, and north to Savannah GA. A local radio call in show on WGIG, 1440 AM took calls from people that heard and felt this large event. I just wanted you to be aware of what has happened here and maybe help shed some light on this event. If you need any more information, do not hesitate to contact me. Regards, Brunswick, Georgia Resident

March 15, 2012, TV headline by News4Jax.com, Jacksonville, Georgia.

The five southeastern Georgia counties where the very loud, window-rattling boom was heard on March 15, 2012, between 8:15 AM and 8:30 AM were Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Glynn and McIntosh Counties, marked with red circles in map below.

was heard on March 15, 2012, between 8:15 AM and 8:30 AM were
Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Glynn and McIntosh Counties

News4Jax.com reported that the USGS Geological Survey had no seismic evidence of an earthquake and the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay said they “were not conducting any operations that would have caused a sonic boom or explosion. Channel 4 checked with the Navy and Marines, which said there were two F/A-18 Super Hornets flying over Georgia at the time, but they were nowhere close to the speed of sound. The FAA told Channel 4 the agency had no record of any aircraft going supersonic in the 5-county area on Thursday morning.
The loud boom mystery has persisted in many states for a long time. See related Earthfiles Archive reports below.

The fact that the loud booms continue over time without any explanation is increasingly troubling to affected residents such as Brunswick police officer Todd Rhodes, who told Channel 4, “We haven’t heard anything and that’s sad. So many people here have felt the booms and we don’t have a clue what it was.”

Loud “Explosions” in Chilton and Bibb Counties, Alabama

Birmingham News online, March 6, 2012.

On March 6, 2012, the 911 dispatchers in Chilton County, Alabama, south of Birmingham, received some 100 reports from all over the county “of loud explosions and walls of homes suddenly shaking.” The 911 director, Dan Wright, told the Birmingham News that he was in his home at about 4:30 PM when, “I felt the ground shaking and I heard this loud rumbling. My garage door started shaking and it sounded like it was falling down.” In Bibb County to the west of Chilton County, the 911 dispatcher also received about half a dozen calls reporting similar booms and shakes.

Birmingham News online, March 7, 2012.

The next day on March 7, 2012, the Birmingham News reported that the Federal Aviation Administration “found no records of any flights Tuesday afternoon, March 6, that could have caused a sonic boom in central Alabama.” An FAA spokesperson explained civilian planes don’t fly fast enough to cause a sonic boom – only military aircraft could do that. But a spokesman for Maxwell-Gunter AFB in Montgomery denied any of its aircraft were flying faster than the speed of sound.
