Awake Goy I was elated. The shop manager of Britain’s largest retail newsagents placed an order for 20 copies of my poetry anthologies. Eyeing holocaust fiction on the nearby shelving I suggested she might be interested in stocking copies of Did Six Million Really Die? “It discredits most of this fiction,” I smiled.
The poor girl was taken aback not because I disbelieved the holocaust mantra but because I was destroying her illusions. As we discussed lurid holocaust titles I realised she was getting off on telling me of what she claimed the Germans did. I would have got a similar reaction had I told her that Dracula was not the fiend he’s made out to be and Frankenstein was a fictional character. You try telling a six-year old that Santa isn’t real and you get the picture.
As a teenage sailor I was a regular visitor to the United States. Men’s literature was different than British post-war fodder. Ours was equally fanciful but not sexually lurid. Along American news agent’s shelving were colourful magazines whose covers illustrated swastikas and SS tunics. The bizarre tales between the dog-eared pages were as far-fetched as anything found in the tales of the Brothers Grimm. The most popular stories portrayed scandalous imagery of vicious Nazi concentration camp guards whipping inmates. Strangely enough, all these Jewish victims were Aryan, blonde, near naked, big-breasted beautiful teenagers. This was permissible sadomasochist porn for juvenile minds.
We knew it was fiction. Had magazines shown images of European women, housewives, women and children, who look just like our mums and sisters, raped and murdered by the Allied Armies as they orgasmed all over defeated Germany, we would have been revolted. If you wanted true history; American, British and Red Army barbarism, such could be obtained only ‘under the counter’.
The big money’s in fiction and that which further demonises the Workers Reich. People don’t want to hear the truth because they don’t want their illusions destroyed. Your truth is their nonsense just as their truth is your nonsense.
Each Armistice Day old American British and Commonwealth soldiers, former conscripts, take part in victory parades. None wish to be confronted about their lost cause for they too like their illusions. The Russians are equally brainwashed. Show the average Russian undeniable images of Red Army brutality or Reich generosity towards the peoples they liberated; closing their eyes they slam their hands over their ears. No Western leader, President Putin included, dare let the Truth Genie out of the Lamp.

The average Russian believes that a land-hungry unprovoked Reich invaded and plundered the Motherland. It is their firmly held belief that it was a straight fight between the glorious Red Army and the cowardly armies of the Reich; the Americans and others were bit-part players. Russians detest the peoples of the Soviet occupied countries for not showing gratitude towards their Red Army liberators.
Fiction is their truth, but is it yours too? Westerners are in denial when they glibly talk of liberating Europe when in truth Western Europe was shackled by bankers’ usury and the hapless peoples of thirteen Eastern European nations sent to Stalin’s Gulag or deposited in mass graves. When I show images of Waffen SS troops being hailed as liberators Russian, British and American eyes look away. The Russian is convinced that the Reich troops took propaganda pictures of their cavorting with peasants before the rustics were shot.
Understand before you condemn. If it is difficult for you to change your mind imagine how difficult it must it be to get others to change their minds. Is their hope for truth? Yes, in my youth, and perhaps yours too, we believed in the holocaust mantra. If we opened our eyes, then we can and should open the eyes of our brothers and sisters too.
