Zangeneh: OPEC meeting closes inconclusive

Vienna, Dec 4, IRNA – Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh said on Friday that the 168th OPEC ministerial meeting in Vienna ended without any concrete result.

Speaking at the end of the meeting, Zangeneh said, ‘The only decision made at the meeting was change of the Secretary General.

‘(OPEC Secretary-General Abdullah) Mr. al-Badri will remain in his position for seven months as of January 2016 and serve as interim secretary general as long as the new secretary general has not been elected.’

He added that OPEC members did not change their production ceiling of 30 million barrels a day and that an extraordinary meeting was decided to be held on the issue.
