Egypt’s navy shot, killed Palestinian fisherman

Days of Palestine, Gaza Strip –Egyptian navy shot, killed on Thursday evening Palestinian fisherman in Rafah, south of the coastal enclave.

The fisherman was working with his colleagues on board of small fishing boat off the Gaza coats, near the Egyptian borders.

An Egyptian gunship approached his boat and opened fire directly at the fishermen on board of the boat. The fishermen fled away, but Firas Miqdad, 18, was shot and immediately died.

Miqdad’s body was taken to a hospital in Rafah and the doctors said he was shot by a live bullet in the chest and it penetrated to the heart.

Several Palestinian fishermen were, arrested, wounded or killed by the Egyptian navy during the past two years.
