JOE BIDEN

Who is Joe Biden, really?
“When the racist backlash against breaking school segregation began in the mid-1970s, Biden first tried to avoid taking a stance before embracing the segregationist side.

“He wrote the 1977 Eagleton-Biden amendment, which banned the Department of Health, Education and Welfare from promoting racially integrated schools.

“Throughout the Reagan years, Biden played a key role in garnering Democratic support for the Republicans’ tax cuts for the rich. He was also an instrumental part of the rise of the New Democrats, who wanted to push the party even further to the right.
“He was a strong advocate for the financial deregulation that laid the basis for the 2008 crash.”

Biden is already letting us down | The Independent

“Joe Biden has already snubbed Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, walked back promises about student debt, and appointed some disappointing members of staff.

“Mounting student loan debt — currently at $1.6 trillion and counting — was a top concern of younger voters in the 2020 election. And according to a recent Tufts University analysis, turnout among young voters aged 18-29 was 8% higher in 2020 than it was in 2016, with young voters making up 17% of the total electorate.

Biden will only forgive up to $10,000 in privately held debt — even though 92% of student debt is federal — and only for “economically distressed” borrowers, which suggests rigid means-testing will stand in the way of the scant few borrowers who may qualify.

“Biden’s new climate adviser is Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-LA), who relies heavily on the oil and gas industry for campaign donations.

“Biden’s national security braintrust includes architects of the 20-year-long Afghanistan war. According to The Washington Post’s James Hohmann, General Stanley McChrystal was present at a national security briefing for the Biden transition team.

“Perhaps most troubling is that Biden’s most senior White House staff includes a venture capitalist (chief of staff Ron Klain) and a former pharmaceutical industry lobbyist (Steve Ricchetti). Additionally, the frontrunners for cabinet positions in Biden’s White House are a mishmash of corporate executives from the tech and pharmaceutical industries, along with a few Wall Street bankers.

“Senators Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) are expected to be “frozen” out of Biden’s cabinet, despite them campaigning for Labor Secretary and Treasury Secretary, respectively.”
