Thousands of Ukrainian tech experts assisted China military projects

A state-run Chinese newspaper has disclosed the great extent to which Ukraine has since 1991 helped the People’s Liberation Army gain key Soviet- and Russian-designed advanced weapons.

Thousands of Ukrainian weapons’ experts have gone to China to participate in hundreds of key weapons projects, from naval architecture to missile design and combat aircraft engineering.

The Nanning Evening News based in the Southern Chinese province of Guangxi published on March 10 an article which was quickly reprinted by China’s main Beijing-based news outlets including the Global Times and the People’s Daily.

It disclosed that after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Chinese government established a special bureau called “Double Inducing Project� aimed at inducing to China the weapons experts and military technologies from the newly independent former Soviet republics.
