100 days until ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones:’ Top 5 moments to come

Exciting news has been abundant but we still have much to look forward to as August 23 approaches. Catch my top 5 moments to come.

In exciting news, it was recently announced that the film’s sequel, “The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes” is set for production this fall with Harald Zwart returning to the directing chair. Zwart recently discussed his return to Cassandra Clare’s universe with some Norwegian publications.

This past week Sony Pictures released a few more character posters. Fans can now see Clary, Jace, Simon, Valentine, and Magnus in this slide show. Which is your favorite character poster?

Sony Pictures is getting creative and proving that they know their audience through their social media-filled marketing plan. Fans can participate through official social media sites: Clary Fray’s Pinterest page, Simon Lewis’ Tumblr, City of Memes, and BecomeAShadowhunter.com.

For fans, August 23 can’t come quick enough. The popular SteleCast released a list of 100 things to do before “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.” You can read that here.

  • As “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” film’s premiere approaches we can look forward more and more social media frenzy. This is a fanbase that is very active online and Sony clearly recognizes this by creating: Clary Fray’s Pinterest page, Simon Lewis’ Tumblr, City of Memes, and BecomeAShadowhunter.com. I think we can look forward to more film-related reveals through social media venues and don’t forget to follow the cast and crew on Twitter. I predict many Twitter trends as August 23 nears! 
  • Since we know now that “The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes” is set for fall production we can look forward to more news on the sequel to “City of Bones.” “The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes” will be unveiled at the Cannes preview going on this week.What "City of Ashes" scenes are you most looking forward to in the film?
  • We’ve seen the teaser, theatrical and International trailers for “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.” As we get closer to its release we are sure to start seeing TV spots as well. Just tonight (May 15) the theatrical trailer aired during “Supernatural” and the CW. 
  • Also, as we approach the premiere we can get excited about cast appearances on morning shows, talk shows, etc. This will be a great time for shadowhunters as I’m sure the cast will be showing up everywhere. Can we hope for a Hot Topic tour? 
  • With exception of the midnight premiere for fans, one of the last big Mortal Instruments moments before we see the film will be the red carpet premiere. This is a beautiful cast with excellent style so I can’t wait to see what everyone wears and what they have to say. Just look at how stylish Lily and Jamie were at the recent MET Gala. I will be at the event for Examiner.com and look forward to bringing readers up to the minute coverage.
