20 Taliban killed in Afghanistan

The Afghan Interior Ministry announced in a statement on Wednesday that 11 militants were also wounded during the operations in the provinces of Kabul, Kapisa, Helmand, Logar, Kandahar, Ghazni and Paktia within the past 24 hours.

A variety of weapons were reportedly seized from captured militants as well.

The Taliban has claimed that the militant group inflicted heavy losses on the forces that fought them during the recent operations.

Insecurity continues to climb across Afghanistan despite the presence of nearly 130,000 US-led forces in the Asian country.

Roadside bombs and improvised explosive devices (IED) are by far the most lethal weapons the Taliban militants use against the Afghan and foreign troops, as well as ordinary civilians.
