The NFL will roll out its new policy this weekend at the Ralph Wilson Stadium in New York.
Alex Jones has called for a boycott of the NFL following an announcement that the Gestapo zone concept will expand from airports to sports stadiums.
Jones argues the new intrusive pat-down procedure is part of an effort to acclimate the populace to the police state.
USA Today reports that the NFL has announced it will begin intrusive pat-downs of fans this football season. The organization wants all 32 clubs to search 16.6 million fans from the ankles up.
“The enhanced security procedures recommended by our office before the start of the season will further increase the safety of fans but will require some additional time,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told the newspaper.
The new grope-down procedure is part of the NFL’s “Best Practices” policy and will begin this weekend at a Buffalo Bills game at the Ralph Wilson Stadium in New York. The Indianapolis Colts also said they will begin intrusive pat-downs of fans during a game between the Colts and the Browns on Sunday.

In 2007, a federal appeals case gave a green light to pat-down searches of fans after a man brought a lawsuit, claiming the procedure violated his constitutional protection against unreasonable searches. A three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the man, high school teacher Gordon Johnston, had forfeited his right to challenge the constitutionality of the pat-downs when he consented to them. The court also said Johnston doesn’t have a constitutional right to watch a football game.
At the time, the NFL argued that the searches “provide an essential layer of security in an age of constant terrorism threats,” according to the Associated Press. The NFL did not cite terrorism concerns when it announced the new, more intrusive pat-downs today. USA Today mentioned the arrest of a man for using a stun gun on fans at a New York Jets-Dallas Cowboys game Sunday night.
The Department of Homeland Security partnered with the NFL earlier this year. “Our partnership with the NFL and local law enforcement to bring the ‘If You See Something, Say Something’ campaign to Super Bowl XLV is a critical part of our efforts to ensure the safety of every player, employee and fan in the area for the game,” Napolitano said on January 31, 2011.
In November of 2010, Homeland Security boss Janet Napolitano said body scanners would eventually find their way into U.S. public transportation, trains and boats. “I think the tighter we get on aviation, we have to also be thinking now about going on to mass transit or to trains or maritime. So, what do we need to be doing to strengthen our protections there?” she said.
Napolitano suggested Americans undergo behavioral interrogation before they are allowed to enter sports events, rock concerts and shopping malls.
“We look at so-called soft targets — the hotels, shopping malls, for example — all of which we have reached out to in the past year and have done a fair amount of training for their own employees,” Napolitano said the following month.

My personal opinion is that American sports fans, particularly football fans, are such putzes that they will undergo being groped in the balls by “security personnel” just to get in the stadium just like a junkie tolerates a needle prick to inject themselves with heroin.

This is a matter of where policy is going. Any moron knows a private franchise can do anything it wants to do. It is their property and their franchise. There are too many very normal Americans here who happen to play and enjoy watching sports. The US Constitution requires STATE ACTION. Actions by the NFL do not count as State Action, obviously.

I’m all for Alex Jones, but I am also a diehard football fan. Every time I’ve gone to an NFL game I’ve been patted down didn’t really care. Yes I sound neutral because individual liberties and football are both issues close to my heart. I can understand that Roger Goodell is essentially acting like the overpowered federal government and legislating away rights of fans, while the individual stadiums i.e., states, should have the ultimate decision over their own security policies. A sign of arrested development?
Is chess also a sign of arrested development? After all, football and chess are both games of competitive strategy. But football adds in physical competition and teamwork to the mix, making it much more complex.
Or how about cribbage or poker? Are those signs of arrested development?
Competition is good for the mind, body and soul. It drives us to achieve greater abilities. The losers may beg to differ, but only until they learn to win.
Chess players don’t have mainstream matches weekly, and get paid millions of dollars when Doctors and scientists make 1/10th their salary. They are encouraging sheep children to “grow up” to toss pigskin around instead of doing something to the betterment of society. That’s the problem. Nothing wrong with doing healthy, physical activity with your friends and family, but to pay low IQ people MILLIONS to play a childs game???? Come on. We do not have our priorities in order.

Actually, BH is correct. Nobody is molesting people at football games. Nobody has to go to these football games. These games are run by private companies that can legally do pat-downs as part of their security measures.

Intrusive pat downs have been going on at many rock concerts since at least the 80′s. The way they got over all of the bitching about it in WA state was to use all female seurity. The Buffalo Bills have announced the changes for fans attending this Sunday’s home game against the Oakland Raiders at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The Bills’ announcement reads in part:
The Buffalo Bills will be implementing an enhanced pat-down procedure starting with this Sunday’s game and the organization wants to communicate this new process to all fans attending the game. The new procedure is a recommendation from the NFL in accordance with the league’s Best Practices policies. Specifically, the enhanced portion of the pat-down is for the area from the knees to the ankles. Bills officials have long recommended that fans arrive early to the gates and continue to do so, especially with the enhanced pat-down now part of the security measures taken at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
Please note: The NFL’s decision to implement the above new procedure and the Bill’s implementation of said procedure amounts to prisoner acclimation training. I am now officially boycotting the Bills and the NFL until they reverse this un-American policy; and I will encourage others to follow my lead; as I am sure there will be a massive backlash and negative publicity surrounding this draconian decision to steal more freedoms from the good people in the guise of ‘enhanced security.’
The NFL and the Bills should be ashamed of themselves; and it is very apparent that the entire league has become nothing more than a corporate tool for implementing government slave training.

I have never understood the appeal of any professional sporting event. Watching people that you don’t know and have no personal connection to, playing a game just seems like a supreme waste of time. When people start discussing professional sports, it’s an automatic for me to walk away from the mindless foolishness of it all.

The “enhanced pat down” will be used to usher in the body scanner, because “the People” will complain of the invasiveness of the pat down and the scanner will be offered as a benign and acceptable replacement. Enjoy your groupthink session sheeple!
