As controversy over the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin swirls, all sides are anxiously awaiting a decision this week by a special prosecutor whether to bring charges against the neighborhood watch volunteer who killed the teen.
The case could be taken up as early as Tuesday by a grand jury that is expected to convene in Seminole County, Florida.
But, like so many details of the case itself, it is unclear how the special prosecutor plans to handle possible legal proceedings.

The video makes a very good point.
When you claim self-defense it is done in court when a judge asks for your plea.
Then with attorneys, testimony and evidence you now have to prove that you truly acted in self-defense. Based upon that…the judge rules.
But self-defense is never claimed and accepted as legit at the scene of the crime over a dead body to the police. And then having the police not bring you in for further questioning and possibly an arrest for discharging a firearm, assault, manslaughter or murder. It cannot be determined on the street level by officers to make their own ruling that this was self-defense and then let you go home. That is not proper for a self-defense plea. The officers acted improperly, with prejudice and with favoritism toward the shooter rather than toward the proper investigation. Zimmerman being a sheriff in training and having a father as a retired judge clearly was a factor in the investigation not being done properly.
Due to the tense atmosphere, the Grand Jury hearing should be postponed indefinitely.
There would be no story if his last name wasn’t Zimmerman.
