I received a message on Greater Cleveland CopBlock’s Facebook page today, from a follower who saw a speed trap in Parma. As he was warning drivers with a sign, he tells me, he was confronted by a man who works for State Road AutoBody in Parma Ohio. This CopBlocker did not get any video of the incident but tells me that the man had a sign to match his stickers on his truck.
It says, ‘Fuck the “CopBlockers.”‘ To each his own, of course, except for the fact that this CopBlocker tells a story of this man shoving his “Fuck the CopBlockers” sign in his face. After he warned the man that he would defend himself if the man touched him again, the man backed off and went away.
What does it all mean? People in this area are not going to take this cop bullshit any more. People around here are tired of the Parma police approach of might-makes-right. As am I! Their willingness to violate people’s rights is evidenced on many videos from the area. Videos that I have shot and videos that others have shot.
Whether or not people like this guy want to admit it, Parma has a long way to go to rebuild its trust from the community, which has largely been a victim of Parma police heavy handedness. Don’t worry, buddy, one day this guy will find out. He may not be directly affected because they fix the police cars and let the cops use their lot to set up speed traps. If I am not mistaken, this auto body shop also sat a disabled police car behind a sign on its property for about a month.
People have their own opinions and that is fine. If you want to stand there with your sign while I stand there with my sign, have at it. But just as CopBlockers have to learn how not to get too close to cops while filming, so do copsuckers need to learn some etiquette. Say whatever you want but keep your hands to yourselves!!! Oh! And be prepared to defend yourselves when you do not!
