The blast took place near Kharbit Ghazala neighborhood of the city, located about 114 kilometers (70 miles) south of the capital Damascus, on Sunday when a remote-controlled bomb targeted a bus as it was passing in the area.
In another incident, Syrian soldiers killed tens of armed men in the flashpoint northwestern city of Aleppo.
The armed men were killed on Sunday as they engaged in bitter clashes with Syrian forces in the Masaken al-Furdous neighborhood of Aleppo, located 355 kilometers (220 miles) north of Damascus.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Army inflicted heavy losses on foreign-sponsored insurgents in Aleppo’s Midan district on Sunday and purged the area of terrorist groups.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011.
Damascus says outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorists are the driving factor behind the unrest and deadly violence while the opposition accuses the security forces of being behind the killings.
The Syrian government says that the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country and accuses Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey of arming the opposition.
