Mr Devillers was one of two Westerners known to have been close to Gu Kailai,
Mr Bo’s wife, and Mr Heywood’s alleged murderer. He registered a company
with Mrs Gu, Adad, in the UK which was wound up in 2003.
They also gave a residential address at Keystone House in Bournemouth, where
Mrs Gu lived while her son, Guagua, studied in the UK.
In the wake of Mr Heywood’s death, he has kept an extremely low profile, and
attempts to contact him in France, China and Hong Kong have all failed.
Mr Devillers was described by his former wife, Guan Jie as “a good guy, a
man who understands art and artists. He is a Taoist”.
