A teenager’s home was gatecrashed by 400 revellers after plans for his 16th birthday party were posted on Facebook.

Bradley McAnulty had only intended for about 30 friends to come to the bash at his family home in a residential suburb of Poole, Dorset.

But news of the event was leaked onto Facebook and via Blackberry messenger and the gathering got spectacularly out of hand when hundreds of revellers arrived.

The unruly mob smashed a window,
pulled the back door off its hinges, ripped down the lounge curtains,
damaged the garden fence and wrecked a children’s outdoor playhouse.

The
out-of-control party spilled onto the street and horrified neighbours
reported seeing youths jumping on cars, hurling beer cans and tearing up
and down the road on scooters.

Three girls were also seen urinating in a neighbour’s garden.

Police
with dogs were called to the £300,000 detached house and had to use
loud hailers to move the crowd on before arresting two boys, aged 16 and
17, for allegedly being drunk and disorderly.

Bradley’s
dad Michael, 48, had earlier left his son and his friends alone with
some beer for the birthday gathering at 7.30pm while he spent the
evening at a nearby social club.

But he rushed home at 10pm after calls from neighbours alerting him to the chaos that had unfolded at his four-bed house in Parkstone, Poole.

Mr McAnulty, who has three other younger children, spent all night clearing up the mess left by the revellers.

Bradley believes the party got so out of hand because people kept spreading news of the ‘free house’ via Blackberry messenger.

He said: ‘It started off with a few people bringing plus-ones and I didn’t see a problem with letting them in, but then a larger group turned up and I said no.

‘They opened up the side gate without me knowing and from there people just kept coming in.

‘After a while, the street was full of people coming into this house and I kind of lost control of what happened.

‘I wanted the party to be bigger than normal and the best party ever. It was hard to take in on the actual night looking at the amount of people. It got really out of hand.

‘It was scary how quickly things can change.’

Mr McAnulty, a IT anaylist who recently lost his job at Barclays Bank, said: ‘My son was having a party for him and some friends, and it got out on Facebook and someone mentioned BBM (Blackberry messanger).

‘I got a call from one of the neighbours and they said there are about 100 kids on the street, and I just went mad. As far as I was aware Bradley was having a good time with a few friends.

‘I told Bradley not to put it on Facebook and to tell his friends not to, so it wasn’t him.

‘If it wasn’t for Facebook and BBM it wouldn’t have got out so quickly or to so many people.

‘Lucky nothing valuable was stolen as I had locked the bedrooms.

‘At 16, they all think they should drink as much as they can as quickly as they can and that’s where it started going wrong.’

Shocked residents also told of their disgust at the behaviour of some of the gatecrashers.

Sue Hockey said: ‘There must have been 100 to 150 of them out there drunk, running around, jumping off cars, setting off alarms and throwing cans.’

Carol Longman said: ‘I saw three girls urinating in next door’s garden. Some kids were kicking a neighbour’s car.

‘They were shooting up and down on scooters and swearing at the policve who used loudhailers to tell them to move on. I was quite scared.’

A spokesman for Dorset police said officers attended the house party at 10.30pm last Wednesday.

He said: ‘Everybody had moved on or had been arrested within 25 minutes.

‘Officers then remained in the area for a period of time to provide reassurance to residents.

‘A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were arrested for being drunk and disorderly.’

‘I wanted the party to be bigger than normal and the best party ever.’ – This quote from the son says it all really, plus the fact that he ‘only’ invited 30 friends and plus ones were ‘ok’ well then that to my maths already makes 60 in the garden or downstairs of a 4 bed house in town. Was always going to be too big to handle, sounds like his dad didn’t assert the ground rules before he left so no sympathy. The 2 concepts, quiet party for 30 close friends and I wanted the party to be bigger than normal and the best ever do not square upto each other, stupid dad, stupid son.

The sheep get younger and younger don’t they. put it on F.B. and off they go. Great to see all this independence of thought in action. Soz gtg to update me page.

Just sums up ( again) the mentality of the youth we now have in this country, and they wonder why no one will employ them…..

“‘I told Bradley not to put it on Facebook and to tell his friends not to, so it wasn’t him.”- don’t you just love the innocence of his dad! HIs son didn’t think to call his dad, or the police, or anyone when he “kind of lost control of what happened.”- really?

to all those who say why not call the police straight away have you not seen project X!

The moronic generation. What a sad bunch who had to gatecrash a party because they have no life.

Generation Nothingness

The dad is as dumb as the lad. Only two arrests? Hope they are made to pay for the damage.

Firstly, Facebook might have started it, but Blackberry Messenger is the new way for the feral to gather where they are not wanted, and clearly BBM has played a large part in this.

@Sue, Dubai,15:04. Spot on Sue, I was about to make the same comment. In fact I’d go further, The Police Neighbours ought to be considering taking some form of action against his father for knowingly supplying alcohol to underage children.
