Political opportunists seize upon tragedy to attack second amendment

Within hours of the tragic ‘Batman’ shooting in Aurora, Colorado, political opportunists have seized upon the incident to push for gun control, with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg demanding that both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama “stand up and tell us what they’re going to do about” mass shootings.
Exactly as we predicted in our earlier article, leftists have wasted no time in exploiting the actions of a lone lunatic for political grist, with Bloomberg calling on the two presidential candidates to crack down on gun rights.
We knew ghouls like Bloomberg would rush to exploit this tragedy to try and crush the right to self defense.
Quite how either Romney or Obama have the power to reverse a Hollywood-inspired culture that serves up lashings of violence to young people like turkey at Thanksgiving is anyone’s guess.
In addition, the notion that either of the presidential candidates can put a halt to a juggernaut pharmaceutical industry that doles out violence-causing SSRI drugs to youngsters like penny candy is clearly asinine.
“I mean, there’s so many murders with guns every day,” said Bloomberg. “It’s just gotta stop. And instead of these two people, President [Barack] Obama and Governor [Mitt] Romney talking in broad things about, they want to make the world a better place. OK. Tell us how. And this is a problem. No matter where you stand on the Second Amendment, no matter where you stand on guns, we have a right to hear from both of them, concretely, not just in generalities, specifically, what are they going to do about guns?” Bloomberg told WOR News Talk Radio 710.

Bloomberg was followed in his idiocy by CNN host and all-round smarm-merchant Piers Morgan, who in a series of tweets hastily seized upon the tragedy to promote his lust for disarming the general public.
“America has got to do something about its gun laws. Now is the time,” said Morgan.
“Lunatics like this will always try and get guns. It should be 100,000 times harder than it is for them to do so. That’s my point,” he added.
Perhaps the more fundamental question that needs to be asked as to why America keeps experiencing mass shootings, when as recently as twenty years ago they were few and far between, is to what extent our sick culture and entertainment industry is contributing to the general malaise and unfeeling psychosis that seems to have gripped the younger generations?
Why were there so few mass shootings just two decades ago compared to now? Has the number and availability of guns increased substantially? No. Is the sewer pipe we call Hollywood and the entertainment industry pumping out sicker, more nihilistic and more violence-strewn films than ever before? Yes.
As numerous observers have noted, the recent Batman films have contained unnerving amounts of violence that seem to serve little purpose other than to appease a bloodthirsty craving for gore and brutality amongst young people, who have had such sickness foisted upon them through movies, entertainment, video games and popular music.
As Jenny McCartney notes in the Telegraph, we have been turned into a society seduced by sadism.
This sadism is also more accessible to children and young people than ever before. Many people today are asking what a 6-year-old child was doing at a midnight screening of a movie?
In addition, the fact that these kind of movies are able to generate such a level of suspended disbelief that victims thought the shooting was initially part of the movie, is a shocking example of how much power the big screen has to warp minds.
It’s also now come to light that Warner Bros paired the Batman movie with a trailer for a film which shows “a gangster with a machine gun shooting up people in a movie theater from behind the big screen.”
Once again, before we even know anything about the 24-year-old shooter James Holmes, the establishment media and leftist political operatives are rushing to denounce gun rights as the culprit behind the tragedy, once again failing to address the underlying root cause – a sadistic, death obsessed culture that allows young men to be drawn into bizarre fantasy worlds where violence is seen as an alluring adventure.

In the Frank Miller book “The Dark Knight Returns” (published in late 80s or early 90s I believe),
There is a theatre shooting propagated by a crazy guy named Arnold Crimp.
Arnold is an uptight religious type who chooses a porn theater playing the film “My Sweet Satan” after losing his job at a record store, where he tells a customer about Led Zeppelin’s alleged Satanic lyrics before breaking her record into pieces.
Fortunately in the comic, the shooter is not wearing riot gear and is armed with only a six chambered handgun. He is able to kill only a handful of people. But the event is only one of many in troubled Gotham city.

In the SAME BOOK, there is another shooting, less fatal, involving a depressed man who dresses as the Batman before going into a diner with a loaded gun, and an eater shoots him just like the incident this week where an elderly man shot internet cafe robbers.

The book seemed a bit heavy on violence, but Miller mentions Chicago — ironically, gangs run it today.
Miller also predicted that the Twin towers would be a target, used twin towers in a Two-Face story.
He predicted that guns would become less useful, and that citizens would be expected to respond responsibly to false flags and nuclear exchange.
He predicted an EMP attack that would take out the electricity in the USA.

Correct! And 20+ years ago is when the psychological community started pushing giving the mild altering pills to younger and younger patients. Thos drugs have some very harmful possible negative side affects which include suicidal homicidal mental states. Just read the long form drug print out on any of those psychotropic drugs and you will see the possible negative side affects listed.
It’s a good bet that Colorado shooter was on one of those psychotropic drugs!

That’s my theory as well Robert. We need to go after Hollywood and shut down the drug industry.
I agree that the culture is sick. I agree that the sick culture is responsible. I don’t completely agree with the emphasis on Hollywood.
First, Hollywood is only one part of the very sick culture. Second, there have always been violent movies although I suppose they are getting somewhat worse. I just remember very violent movies from my youth more than 30 years ago. Violent movies are not new.
Our culture is very sick in so many ways. Unemployment, lack of economic opportunity, and many other factors are responsible. I agree legal drugs are responsible.
By the way, the government is teaching that this kind of violence is OK as we incite violence in other countries, fire missiles at weddings and funerals, etc. Of course, I have seen the video where the helicopter slaughtered people in Iraq who were basically just standing around doing nothing harmful. The helicopter kept firing at a man who was on his hands and knees crawling and at a van acting as an ambulance.
I would tend to blame the bad example set by government more than movies.

Violence in movies is way more rampant and insidious than thirty years ago. There are way more movies being made and way more cable and satellite channels than there ever was. The saturation is far greater since the eighties than ever. Kids at a younger and younger age and for longer periods of time are exposed to media propagated violence.
It is a major factor…not the only factor, but a growing factor.
Norway’s confessed mass murder Anders Behring Breivik testified April 19 “that he sharpened his aim beforehand by playing the video game ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’ for hours,” reported USA Today April 20; while also noting how “Breivik, 33, said he also prepared for his attacks by playing ‘World of Warcraft for 16 hours a day while living with his mother.” For instance, after training with the aid of these popular video games, Breivik said during his trail that his first shots pushed him into what “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” calls a “fight-and-flight” mode that this gunman said “made it easier to continue killing.”

It will be interesting to see what movies, music, television shows, and video games this young man was into it.
Recent media says the killer died his hair red and was trying to imitate the Joker or another villain.
Just look at what Batman did to Alex when he was jumping around the neighborhood acting like a freak as the Joker.

I think the UN has something to do with this… there has been a rise in random public shootings since the general public found out about the UN gun treaty. The one in chicago where like 40 people got shot, the was a guy that walked into a bar recently and opend fire, and now this. there wont be any proof but it just seems really coincidental that the government is pushing for mass gun control and there are random shootings popping up all over the place. Whether the UN or the US gov is involved or not, they will use this to get rid of our guns.

Stories like these are as old as the USA. When Red Indians, Negros, Vietnamese, Afghans, Iraqis, Libyans civilians get slaughtered, the yanks normally lord the killers as heroes.

Hopefully it is just an overreaction where the London “Olympic security forces” shoot down a plane of athletes because they can’t identify the plane or the pilot.
Not sure about the MKUltra thing but they’ll sure use him to advocate gun control.
Did anyone try and resist this madman? When people act like sheep they get slaughtered like sheep. From most accounts there were at least 60 people minimum in the theater, if they would have all rushed him and taken him down, I feel far fewer people would have been killed and injured. When you run and try and hide you make it easy for a sicko like this to kill you. I know they will be attacking our gun rights over this, but if 1 person was carrying (legally) maybe they could have saved to day.

I’m sure somebody tried to resist. Somebody likely had to tackle him or else the shooter would have killed a lot more people.

Absolutely see them using this to expand the TSA’s power to interfere with our lives. In general, I believe that if most people would take the stance with the government to “STOP PROTECTING ME!!!”, we would be better off. I never asked anyone to be my protector, and prevent anything from happening to me…that is my personal responsibility (to protect my own…house, family, etc.). Maybe if the police would do their job of catching CRIMINALS and not collecting revenue than some of these occurences would be stopped before they happen, but to be a true policeman today you need to pull over mini-vans full of soccer moms and kids and give them tickets, harass anyone that is exercising their right of free speech, and enforce any of the thousands of laws that make no sense.

Perhaps he was some prescription meds? That would have a bigger effect than watching a movie.
But anyway, it irritates me when people start talking about making gun ownership illegal. Why bother, is what I usually tell them.
Cocaine is illegal, driving drunk is illegal, killing people is illegal….did those things stop because there is a law about it? Yet, these stupid sheep somehow think if we made guns illegal, nobody would have one.
I’m not an expert in politics nor will I even pretend to be, but I feel like our government should be ran using common sense. This shooting is a true tragedy and my heart honestly goes out to everyone who was injured/killed, but instead of showing compassion for 10 seconds, all these news companies and political figures care about taking away our 2nd amendment?! Since Obama “ingeniously” made the decision to shut down nine border patrol stations, you know damn well drug cartels are going to be continuously flowing in (even more so than they already are) and they don’t transport goods without weapons of their own…so what are we supposed to do in order to protect ourselves and our families?? Most shootings are conducted by people who have UNREGISTERED guns and decide to go psycho or get revenge or whatever the case may be, but the government doesn’t tell you that part. If they are as worried about gun control as they say they are, then they need to UP the security at border patrols AND have more people taking down these cartels and everyone who sells guns illegally. That’s common sense stuff, isn’t it? I’ll tell you one thing, they NEED to stop dismantling our constitution! They don’t have a clue as to just how fed up people really are, and I believe that’s why crime has gone up as much as it has. If you push someone into a corner, things will undoubtedly get ugly.
