The 3D animation was presented during the 2012 Cannes Film Market held on the sidelines of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in France, IRNA reported.
More than 140 artists, technicians, engineers and computer animators have contributed to the production of the 50-minute animated feature.
Directed by Kianoush Dalvand, the animation is based on the story of ‘Rostam and Sohrab’ from Persian epic poet Ferdowsi’s magnum opus Shahnameh.
The Cannes Film Market (Marché du Film) is the biggest event in the international film industry and a unique opportunity in which the filmmakers, producers, writers can meet, discover, trade, negotiate, buy, and sell the productions of the film industry.
This year’s Cannes Film Market screens about 19 Iranian screen productions, including Ebrahim Forouzesh’s Hotchpotch, Farzad Ajdari’s Salute to Angels and Hamid and Ali Shah Hatami’s joint production Dream of Cinema.
Iran’s Visual Media Institute, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), the Iranian Youth Cinema Society will also introduce their productions at the Market.
