Wayne County’s former information technologies director told the FBI that county officials destroyed and altered computer files amid a federal grand jury investigation, The Detroit News has learned.
On Feb. 7, one week before Tahir Kazmi resigned and was charged with shaking down a contractor, his attorney sent County Executive Robert Ficano a letter. It claims Kazmi was “targeted by (Ficano’s) political appointees” because he informed authorities about alleged crimes.
