Three days after a massive rebel force of 900 armed pickup trucks, supported by tanks and Nato bombers, surged into the city that is Muammar Gaddafi’s birthplace and final coastal stronghold, loyalist units continue to resist.

It was not supposed to be this way. The rebels dominate the city, have captured the airport and units are surging through the countryside to the south. Yet loyalist forces continue to hold out four weeks after opposition forces arrived in Tripoli to proclaim that the Gaddafi regime was defeated.

“They’re crazy, they’re mad,” said Abdul Baset Hadia, a bearded fighter taking a break from the battle raging in the city. He said loyalist fighters were using civilians as human shields whenever they moved buildings, sending women and children into the street to stop the shooting. “They make a wall of women and children. We can finish it today but we know there are a lot of civilians there. We don’t want to kill them.”

He said loyalist units were fortified within “Ouagadougou”, a sprawling complex in whose great hall Gaddafi had nursed his ambition to be King of Africa. Many African leaders, grateful for the millions of oil dollars he gave them, were happy to applaud him when he held a summit for the Arab League and African Union here in October 2009.

  1. Whatever the reason for the UN/US fighting in/for Lybia, Gadaffi has to go!
    Slowly but surely the NWO gets its grip on the world. Wonder how they will tackle China/N-Korea and Iran?
    There is definately the smell of a world war in the air. It makes me nervous because “they” are looking for a reason to make use of nuclear warfare.

    If Moammar Gadaffi “has to go”, then that should be up to the Libyan people;
    not up to NATO, the “liberators”, nor us! PERIOD!!!!!

  2. What a bunch of lying son of a bitches!

    Human shields again. Right out of the Whitehouse basement propaganda basement mill.

    The fact is Gaddafi’s men are kicking that rabble’s asses and pretty good too it seems. NATO’s mandate ends tomorrow and the NWO forces know it is not likely to be renewed as Russia will veto it.

    This is an enormous humiliation for the US and Obama. This is regime change that has been thwarted by a country’s ruler that obviously knew the US and the West were backstabbing lying pieces of shit and knew enough not to turn their backs on them. Qaddafi may have been prepared for this double crossing bunch all the time. I hope he draws all those rabble, NWO Tools into the killing box and annihilates them all.
    Let NATO leave licking their wounds while Obama, Cameron and Sarkozy explains to the other globalist commies how and why they fucked up.

    Conveniently the ALCIADA rebel forces were accepted into the UN a day or two ago just in time before the resolution runs out.

  3. Ah so the UN are protecting a member state.

  4. Tiny smart bombs have replaced large missles, without killing many neighbors they can kill several dissidents in one apartment. Small and smart has become the weapon of choice, but the disadvantage of a smart bomb is it costs thousands while the cost of a suicide bomber is only the promise of paradise. The martyr has become the poor mans smart bomb.
