Awake Goy Can’t tell you how bad I feel every time I check my website only to find out that I haven’t been posting regularly (as I used to) since … maybe two years.
It’s been long since I have published a good post … but I have my reasons (some are solid reasons, like the departure of my beloved mother, and the rest are silly excuses) … it is so painful when you lead your life by silly excuses and empty lies.
… Trying to leave all that behind. … Starting over with a new approach.
Learnt lesson: follow Steve Jobs’ golden advice “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition”
Not being active on my website does not mean that I stopped researching (many of you know that I constantly investigate/research ancient biblical history and its concocted /distorted link with the history of Ancient Egypt)
Well, the good news is that I’m coming back … and with a vengeance … not in the negative/violent meaning of the word … but I mean with brand new /original ideas that will turn mainstream concepts about biblical Egypt on its head. New articles/essays/videos that will give mainstream biblical scholars & Egyptologists a quiver.
One more confession to make … the other reason why I haven’t been writing as often as I used to do is that I have been making short films and documentaries … another old passion of mine ( check my videos’ page)
“Sea of Love” is a documentary I have been working on for the last 10 months or so. The shooting of the film footage has fortunately been almost concluded two weeks before the novel COVID-19 virus Pandemic. A couple of weeks after I got back to Alexandria ( my hometown) from Luxor (the location of most of the documentary)) …the global lock-down began to kick off.
Currently I’m working on rearranging the story-boarding/script and trying different ideas in editing this unique story of a painter born in England … left Britain after finishing his art education … traveled the world ( China- Japan -Thailand and 20 years in California, USA) … and eventually settled in Luxor, Egypt (since 2005)
It is a fascinating story … a western painter in his fifties decides all of a sudden and after a casual visit to Egypt as a tourist to make … a life-changing decision.
…. I know many who need life-changing decisions ( including myself … wish I had the courage … but I’m working on it)
Once known as Brian Flynn has now (against all odds) become Sheikh, Mohamed El-Tayeb. A man who had the courage to follow his heart and intuition.
