Iran, Iraq to Ink MoU on Fighting Financial Corruption

“In coming days, the General Inspection Office of Iran will host the head of the Iraqi Commission of Integrity,” Head of the General Inspection Office of Iran Nasser Seraj said on Monday.

During Hasan Al-Yasiri’s trip to the country, the two sides are slated to ink an agreement on anti-corruption campaign, he said, hoping that with the deal, Tehran and Baghdad will act more successfully in their efforts to fight corruption.

Seraj said that during the official visit, Yasiri will also hold talks with senior Iranian judicial officials on various aspects of the anti-corruption campaign.

The Iraqi Commission of Integrity, formerly known as the Commission on Public Integrity (CPI), is an independent commission within the government of Iraq tasked with preventing and investigating corruption at all levels of the Iraqi government nationwide.
