AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Saturday attacked a march against settlement activities organized in Beit Ummar north of Al-Khalil city, raided homes inside the city and kidnapped Palestinian citizens, according to different news reports.
Eyewitnesses told the PIC correspondent that clashes broke out near Karmi Tsur settlement that was built illegally on Palestinian lands south of Beit Ummar town.
The clashes happened when Israeli troops fired a barrage of tear gas grenades on the weekly peaceful march as it tried to reach Palestinian agricultural lands near the settlement. A number of injuries among the protestors were reported.
The eyewitnesses added that the IOF intensified their presence at the main entrance of Beit Ummar and near the Palestinian lands threatened with annexation.
The IOF also raided homes in Al-Khalil city in the morning of the same day and kidnapped four Palestinians including two bridegrooms whose wedding was supposed to be held a week later.
Israeli military patrols also stormed the districts of Deir Al-Asal, Mirah Al-Bikar and Majd west of Al-Khalil city without any reported kidnappings or clashes with citizens.
Israeli troops were also seen blocking the entrance to Kharsa village south of Al-Khalil to protect a group of Jewish settlers who were attacking Palestinian cars.
In another incident, dozens of settlers on Friday and Saturday embarked on attacking Palestinian homes in Ashuhada street and Tel Armidah district in Al-Khalil city.
Eyewitnesses reported that the settlers threw stones at homes and wrote racist slurs against the Palestinians on their walls.
