Marijuana laced bacon anyone? BB Ranch has pot fed pigs

Anyone for a little pot cured bacon? The BB Ranch butcher shop in Seattle is selling pork chops, ham, bacon and other meat that comes from marijuana fed pigs.

The shop’s owner, William von Schneidau, recently told Seattle Nosh Pit, “We are feeding our pigs marijuana now. We’re calling them pot pigs.”

The pigs are given weed, now legal in Seattle, as part of their diet and Schneidau states that the pot adds fiber to the diet of the little piggies.

Apparently a good old bran muffin isn’t enough?

On the BB Ranch website, there is a blog post about their recent Pot Pig Gig that was held in March.

The dinner featured “a head to tail menu from Bucking Boars pot raised pigs and fresh produce from Pike Place vendors.”

Wondering where the BB Ranch gets their pot? The shop partnered with Bucking Board Farms of Snohomish, WA to get the goods. And it’s completely legal.

One would assume a bag of chips or other munchies would be a good side dish with pot pork chops or eggs and pot bacon.

If you’re not a fan of pot fed pig meat, the BB Ranch also has some pigs who are boozers. Some of their swine have been feedvodka grains from Project V Distillery of Woodinville. Scheidau calls them “vodka pigs.”
