Michelle Obama’s ‘goodwill tour’ of Africa cost taxpayers over $425,000, according to a taxpayer watchdog group.
Documents obtained under a federal Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch detail costs incurred during the First Lady’s trip to South Africa and Botswana in June – with the cost of firing up ‘Air Force 2′ alone amounting to $424,142.
The White House earlier professed the purpose of the trip was to help ‘youth leadership, education, health and wellness’ in south Africa.
Judicial Watch said it based the jet costs on the U.S. Department of Defense’s published hourly rates for the C-32A aircraft – a specifically configured military version of the Boeing 757.
During the June 21-27 trip, the group accounted for 34.8 flight hours at $12,188 per hour.

The Obama’s are a disgrace to this country. They have been taking vacation after vacation since he was ELECTED. They are NOT the King and Queen of this country. These exotic vacations have cost the taxpayers hundreds of million dollars that we don’t have. They just charge it to the White house credit card and we pay. This shit must stop immediately! No more Obama family vacations. She needs to keep her ass in Washington. I am sick and tired of seeing them live like royalty when this country is so screwed up financially. They tell us to work harder, pay more, shut up and “eat our peas”. Well it is also time to tell them they are cut off. No more spending tax money on their family vacations. and it is also time to cut back on the White house expense account. They don’t need fancy dinners and expensive parties every night in the White house.

Why does the President and his family get a blank expense check where ever they go? No wonder the administration is against any kind of budget. If Mrs. Obama can spend that kind of money on one trip there must not be a limit. As if the Obama’s can’t afford to pay for their own trip. The Obama’s are the King and Queen of Hypocrisy. That is nearly a half of a million $’s added to the deficit for a vacation for the wife of the president? That is almost double the president’s yearly salary. Wow what a perk. Must be Billions in perks by the time 4 years rolls around. I guess no budget makes it all legal.
