NGO: Israeli arrest of children increased by 15%

Days of Palestine, West Bank –The number of Palestinian children inside Israeli prisons increased by 15 per cent in 2015, Military Court Watch (MCW) said.

Israeli occupation arrest of children increased by 15 per cent in 2015, the MCW said in a statement reached Days of Palestine.

According to the statement, there are 442 Palestinian children from the Gaza Strip, the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem inside the Israeli jails.

The rate of children arrested by the Israeli in 2015 increased by 15 per cent compared with 2014. Cases of all these children are looked at by Israeli military courts.

Among the 442 children, there are six held under administrative detention. This means that they do not know the reasons why they are being held inside the Israeli occupation prisons.

The MCW said that the 442 Palestinian children are being held in Israeli jails in violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention.
