Paris exhibits Vahmi photographs

Carpet Girls exhibits nine photographs as part of programs organized to celebrate the International Co-operative Day. The pictures introduce traditional Turkmen carpets and carpet weavers.

The International Co-operative Alliance named the first Saturday of July the International Co-operative Day in 1923. The United Nations recognized the day in 1992.

Sponsored by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and Charles De Gaulle University of Arts in Lille, the exhibition will run until July 6, 2012.

Vahmi works as photojournalist and photo editor for UNESCO`s Asia-Pacific Center of Education in Seoul, South Korea.

He is also a member of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP).

Vahmi started taking photographs in 2007 and has already won numerous awards from at festivals of different countries such as Austria and Serbia.
