An Australian man who had been facing the death penalty after being charged with drug trafficking in Malaysia has been acquitted.
Dominic Bird was arrested in Kuala Lumpur on March 1 last year after allegedly supplying an undercover police officer with 167 grams of methamphetamine.
The 34-year-old, originally from the southern Perth suburb of Success, was on Wednesday acquitted after Justice Kamardin Hashim said the prosecution had failed to prove its case.
