Photo of the Day: The unusual grin of a special shark

This is a Port Jackson shark, though you might not have guessed that it is a shark if you just looked at the jaws and teeth. Rather than grabbing fish, these jaws are specialized for a different prey. Photographer John Turnbull writes, “[Port Jackson sharks] eat invertebrates which they crush with their rasping anvil-like jaws; beautifully adapted for their purpose.”
