Adelaide police say they are appalled by the shooting of an 11-year-old boy in a bikie-related incident.

Police say several people forced their way into the Semaphore home in Adelaide’s western suburbs just before 11:00pm on Friday night.

An 11-year-old boy, believed to be the son of a Finks Motorcycle Gang member, was shot twice in the leg.

Superintendent Howard Davies says witnesses are not cooperating.

“People know what has happened and they’re not prepared to come forward and tell the police so we can investigate the matter and bring those people responsible to justice,” he said.

Superintendent Davies says he believes the shooting is related to bikie violence.

“I am appalled that an innocent child who has nothing to do with this in any way, shape or form, has been shot, and that people know that what has happened and they’re not prepared to come forward and tell the police,” he said.

The boy remains in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

On Saturday morning media surrounding the property were pelted with bricks and eggs from people inside.
