Ron Paul’s View On Foreign Occupations Supported By US Troops

Ignoring the facts, establishment media smears Congressman as “defending Al-Qaeda”

The establishment media is once again attempting to smear Ron Paul as anti-American following Paul’s simple observation during the debate last night that foreign occupations increase the risk of terrorist attacks, when in reality the Texan Congressman’s views are endorsed by US military personnel more than any other Republican candidate.

“Republican Presidential Candidate Rep. Ron Paul was booed at last night’s CNN/Tea Party debate while explaining his view on why America was attacked on September 11, 2001,” reports ABC News.

The corporate media instantly seized on the boos, made by a gaggle of neo-con “Tea Party” members, as a tool through which to portray Paul as un-American, with one acerbic headline even asking whether the Congressman was defending Al-Qaeda.

It’s a common smear to equate not supporting foreign occupations as anti-American or against conservative principles, despite the fact that the founding fathers consistently warned against becoming involved in foreign entanglements.

But like a lot of the myths circulated by the establishment about Ron Paul, reality reflects a very different picture.

Given the fact that Ron Paul has received more money in donations from active duty military personnel than all of the other Republican candidates combined and more than Barack Obama himself, his views on foreign occupations are supported by the very U.S. troops that neo-cons constantly invoke to support maintaining such foreign occupations.

Paul’s contention that the troops should be brought home from Afghanistan and Iraq, and that US bases around the world should be closed, is supported by those very same troops.

“Paul’s campaign told Politifact that Paul raised $34,480 from people in the military, compared with $19,849 for Obama and $13,848 for the other GOP presidential candidates,” reports USA Today.

“The Center for Responsive Politics says $11,350 of Paul’s military donations come from people who work for the Army. In the 2008 campaign, the center found that individuals employed by the Army, Navy and Air Force were Paul’s top three sources of campaign donations.”

But it’s not just military service people who are growing tired of America’s unaffordable foreign empire. According to a recent Rasmussen poll, conservatives in general are losing their appetite for war.

Only 15 per cent of of likely U.S. Voters think the situation in Afghanistan will improve over the next six months, while more voters than ever before – 59 per cent – now want an immediate troop withdrawal or a firm timetable to be set for ending the occupation. Republicans are more pessimistic than Democrats about the future course of operations in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

The 59 per cent figure represents a significant swing from less than two years ago in September 2009, when just 39 per cent wanted the troops pulled out of Afghanistan.

Crucially, a slim majority of Republicans now want the troops brought home from Afghanistan, 43 per cent to 42 per cent. Wars launched during the administration of George W. Bush have now become Obama’s wars. Indeed, there are more troops deployed under Obama than there were at any time under Bush.

In addition, a mere 13 per cent of Republicans support US military intervention in Libya to topple Colonel Gaddafi.

The myth that Republican candidates must not deviate from the neo-con dogma of supporting America’s unsustainable foreign occupations and the ludicrous policy of pre-emptive warfare in order to be electable is disappearing fast.

Although a gaggle of self-proclaimed “conservatives,” who in reality have nothing in common with the founding fathers, may have booed Paul’s explanation last night, the majority of Americans, and indeed the majority of US Military servicemen and women, were applauding him.

  1. I applaud Ron Paul’s courage to speak out with the truth. He does it without hesitation. He truly believes what he says no matter what is popular at the time not compromising his beliefs like the other candidates do. They will say and do anything to be elected. Ron Paul tolerates the nay sayers’ boos because he will not compromise the truth. This is why he must win the nomination so we can have an honorable man in the WH.

  2. RON PAUL hadn’t even said a bad word towards Rick Santorum, so for CNN’s Wolf Blitzer to promote a rebuttal, was egregious. It was all an obivous set-up from the audience’s point of view, and also really unfair. And, where did that Afghan woman come from? I doubt from Afghanistan. She was no doubt a shill for the Republican party; a plant. I doubt she ever lived a day in her life in Afghanistan!

  3. People just can’t accept the fact that he is actually correct. Nobody wants to believe the statement that we “deserved it”…the people who died didnt deserve to die but ever since the end of WW2 our govt has been sticking its nose in everyone elses business. How else are the people around the world going to defend themselves against the most powerful country in the world…I love Ron Paul and will go to bat for him but I feel like the sheep masses will never give him a shot.

  4. “made by a gaggle of neo-con “Tea Party” members”

Alex, not everyone that disagrees is a neo-con.

I can admit that we were attacked because #1 Our support for Israel (As a Christian, It is the right thing to do) #2 We are trying to convert the middle east.

As an Isolationist self indulgent Country, Can you argue that we should not try to influence other countries and governments? Yes
As a Christian Nation that believes in reaching the world, you cannot make that same argument.

If you are honest, Christianity is the root that makes us want to share what we have. Until you kill Christianity, you will never get rid of the desire to share our fortune and freedom with the world.

But, as I have seen on here, Alex is only Christian when it suites him and a lot of others here would love to do away with Christianity.

    • I disagree…

Muslims stand on that premise… and why they shout aloud how America and the Christians are taking over the world, and why they kill Christians in the name of allah.

fact is… Christianity has nothing to do with the events in the Middle East and across the world.

The Luciferian Globalists don’t represent America nor Christianity.

      • You do realize the fight over Jerusalem is over whether or not Isaac or Ishmael was the one Abraham took on the mount to sacrifice and received the promise?

It is a fact that Christianity is what keeps us supporting Jerusalem and the Jewish people, because we too believe it was indeed Isaac.

Islam is at odds with any religion or people that do not bow to it

  5. If you still haven’t grasped what’s going on in the Middle East…

Let’s look at it from the perspective of a leader speaking on behalf on Libya… as reported by the Huffington Post of the UK.

Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, the prime minister of Libya’s interim National Transitional Council:

    He says…
    1) Libya will be a modern, democratic state founded on “moderate Islam.”
    2) Joined in Martyr’s Square by several dozen revolutionary leaders, and backed by a firework display, Jalil told the thousands of flag-waving supporters that Libya would not be a secular state.

Remember… there is no such thing as “moderate Islam”… or “secular Islam”

And “Martyr’s Square” should be a massive indicator of that fact.

    He goes on:
    3) “We are a Muslim nation, with a moderate Islam, and we will maintain that. You are with us and support us – you are our weapon against whoever tries to hijack the revolution.”
    4) Urging the crowd not to take retribution against political opponents, Jalil said that “moderate” Libyans should accept their differences without resorting to fighting.

Q: Do people really need to become “weapons” to prevent the hijacking of their revolution?
Q: Why address the “moderates” and not the devout to the Quran “radicals”?

Remember: What better way to control the outcome of Jihad. Get the moderate opponents to accept the differences, lay down and don’t fight back while they go about enforcing strict radical Sharia on them.

    He also says:
    5) “Absolutely, there will be tensions. There will be different views. That’s the whole point of the revolution … The main thing now is how to solve these conflicts in a peaceful way, not resort to armed fighting.”

Ah… HELLO!!! The whole point of the Revolution?! Ah, yeah… the whole point of the Arab Spring… in other words… which stand as more accurate… “Islamic Uprising”!

This is the whole point of what is taking place in the Middle East!

A restructuring of Islam to become more radical… more devout to the Quran… more devout to Muhammad and allah. The are asked to accept their fate… if they don’t like it… learn it… if they still don’t like it… then death.

All along… the Luciferian Globalists alongside the Muslim world, cranked up 9/11 to instigate terror… to be viewed as Victory! This eventually sparked the obvious aggression upon the world including the Middle East.

The Luciferian Globalists aren’t invading… they’re aiding the Luciferian Islamic world restructuring.

  6. To watch the media purposely ignore President Paul when asking the question about the Fed was distgusting. It would be like ignoring the Sun as a driver for the climate.. I never watched the debates before. Not that i hadn’t tried. I just dont have the stomach for lie filled, otherwise empty vessels spewing rhetoric. As i get older i understand my inner heart more. I have found that things in life that do not bring joy, peace, love or understanding bring, well death. Even if not physically. Spiritually for sure. I have no stomach for these fools spouting death. Watching Listening to President Paul is like listening to my Past on Grand daddy. Tryin to teach me the keys to happyness fullfillment that he had learned along the way. He is a constintutionalist. He is a doctor. He is an elder that has stood in the den of devils yet has not waivered. To hear a segment of the crowd boo President Paul as he tried to educate the masses brought a dirty feeling to my heart. Watching President Paul talk about bringing troops home ending needless wars as The panel squirmed in horror was my only joy. They ignored him. They puposely avoided him. They even got a segment to boo him. Yet he is the ONLY ONE who can save this once great nation from going into the abyss. We are a dark people. Liberty lovers must bring light to this presidential race. If the sheeple hear the message they will not be able to deny its power. This is the time. Destiny is at our feet. Join me in Prayer or good vibes what ever your inner soul can dish out for President Paul. Lets send an army of angels to his side as the media devils prepare there onslaught of lies deceit against him.

    • President Paul?!

Nothing like speaking it into existence… aye?

Do you know he downplays the threat of Islam like Obama? Do you remember Obama making all kinds of promises like Ron Paul does?

      So let’s speak another one…

Ron Paul, the Muslim sympathizer… will fail in his candidacy for President!

    • Yeah I am behind you 100%. Never surrender to the forces of evil, we have God on our side and we have truth. Never hate them, always pray for them that they see the light like Apostle Paul did, they are blind to the truth just as he was. We will be victorious!

  7. That scumbag Limbaugh, the oxycodone head, is spinning this to make it seem like ron paul said it’s our fault 9/11 happened. Ron Paul said – THE TERRORISTS said the reason they attacked us was because we are occupying their land. But no, Hannity and other neocons make up this delusion that we were attacked because “of our freedom”. Show me one statement by al Qeada where they said that?? I can show you a lot where they say it’s because of our middle-east policy!!!

Watch what happens, the neo-cons will elect another liberal like McCain and Obama will get 4 more years. This country is doomed, we are a nation of dumbed down sheep.

  8. Bilderburg had their lackeys in the audience of course.

Americans KNOW what Santorum is spouting is PURE PROPAGANDA.

See, its classic Hitler style bullsh*t. Tell a boldfaced LIE, then say

WHOEVER DOESN’T GO ALONG WITH THE LIE IS WITH THE “ENEMY”

We’re pretty dense at times but WE GOT THAT ONE FIGURED.

  9. I can’t even watch this it’s too painful. Bunch of clueless sheep too stupid to jump of the conveyor belt that is leading them directly to the slaughter floor. Oh well they’ll all make a nice stew on the tables of the NWO!

  10. Is it just me but, did anyone else think that the people who were booing Ron Paul Planted by the establishment to try and cause controversy?

  11. God Bless Ron Paul. He is the only candidate who truly knows what liberty and freedom is. It is time for America to stop believing the lies of the media and learn the truth of why America is fighting wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somali, Lybya, and soon Syria and Iran. There may be other countries so please feel free to add any that I may have missed. Also, I would presume that the majority of Americans only know that America is fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and maybe Libya since this what the media shows them. However, most of the time the media does not even talk about the wars that much because they want people to foregt about while our brave men and women our dying for elitists. It is truly disturbing.

  12. Watching the debate, it was my opinion that most of the people on stage were nothing more than pompous blowhards and self-agrandizing clowns — except for Ron Paul, who refused to tickle the ears of the tea-buggers, but spoke the real truth they needed to hear.

It was also obvious that the people booing Ron Paul had been planted for that express purpose (note that they did not treat any of the other contenders the same way), and even booed when he stated facts that can be checked and said things that make perfect sense.

My advice to the Tea Party gang is just this. Be careful what you wish for; you may just get it (the bankster’s one-world government, with yourselves rewarded not with praise and prestige, but slavery).

  13. RON PAUL 2012 – LEGALIZE FREEDOM AND POT

    * i found an awesome website for NEWS-JUNKIES. It’s a drudge-like site with an anti-globalist mindset

    ****CLICK ON MY NAME (BIGBROTHER)

  14. It does appear as if Alex will ignore the, “Yeah, let him die” comment. I knew he would.

  15. This is where I can agree with Ron Paul. Encouraging the US to weaken its own defenses by deploying in to unnecessary foreign entanglements is uniquely anti-American.

  16. Ask yourself this question. What would I think if I saw foreign troops in my country shooting the place up and pushing me around? Folks we need real reasons to deploy our troops and this war on terror is not it. When terrorists come to my neighborhood I will take care of it, I won’t need troops. Bring our troops home. And that means from Europe as well. Hey, a trillion here, a trillion there, pretty soon we are talking real money!

  17. No more war!

  18. THE INSIDIOUS AND ODIOUS ATTEMPT TO SMEAR MR PAUL BY THE PRESSTITUTE MEDIA IS SUCCEEDING SIMPLE AS THAT, WE ALL KNOW SHEEPLE ARE EASILY LED BY MEDIA AND WITH ONE LOOK AT WHO IS PRESIDENT, IT LOOKS LIKE A VERY UPHILL BATTLE MOVING THOSE VOTERS TO A SANE POSITION ON MONEY PRINTING, THEY DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY ARE SUPPORTING WHEN QUESTIONED THE TYPICAL LIBERAL VOTER IS JUST BASICALLY SAYING STEAL FROM THE RICH GIVE TO EVERY ONE ELSE, PRINT MONEY

  19. In a word…resources. The American penchant for war and occupation is all about the acquisition and control of resources. You see, once upon a time, a group a very powerful people realized that our monetary policy would eventually drive the value of our currency into oblivion through inflation, and that the resultant catastrophic decline in our money’s purchasing power and ultimately its position as the world’s reserve currency would make it very difficult for the US and its major allies to acquire resources, chiefly the one non-renewable resource that modern civilization is founded upon, oil. This would necessitate, of course, that the US and its allies establish their presence in the world militarily, to take these necessary resources by force and coercion.

There US currently operates over 900 military bases worldwide. Count em’. That’s the fingerprint of all out global domination. It’s not about the spread of democracy or liberty. It’s about the need to ensure the standard of living for the corporatist oligarchs and international bankers, the real power brokers who engineer foreign policy and have declared war on all who stand between them and their unquenchable lust for more, more, more…

  20. Our troops would likely agree with such a strong born leader.

Ron Paul is the smartest person on that stage and anyone who disagrees doesn’t believe in the free market principles that made our nation the most prosperous country in the world.

A Coup d’etat began with Sarah Palin’s run for office in the 2008 presidential election.

Here’s what Obama, Osama, Biden, Bin Laden, the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists, and Sarah Palin had to do with the last presidential election and the military’s overthrow of our government. Search PalinsDirtyLittleSecret.blogspot and help us restore democracy now.

  21. Military for the past 10 years and I fully support Ron Paul

  22. Sharia is a tool for the west to maintain a cultural clash, antagonize westerners against Muslims and project them as backward. west want to convince its citizens that Muslim world don’t allow women enough freedom and thus setting aside an excuse to intervene in the name of liberating women incase their installed puppet is not that obedient. west need a potential enemy for conflicts to feed its arms industry. sharia helps western leaders convince its citizens that they have more freedom compared to Islamic world by projecting the Islamic countries as backward and medieval. it is also a way to control Muslims with a western backed puppet. at the same time sharia is an easy target by western media to perpetuate a clash of civilization since the warmongers need to breed hate and need to have enemies.
