Ron Paul Now Polls Almost At Dead Heat With Obama

Ron Paul

GOP establishment outsider Ron Paul continues to poll in high numbers when hypothetically pitted against Barack Obama. Indeed a newly released survey today indicates that the two are almost tied in a dead heat.

The respected pollster Rasmussen reports that Ron Paul earns 38% of the vote to President Obama’s 39% in a national phone poll of 1000 likely voters conducted last week.

It seems that Paul’s Ames straw poll victory and his performance in the Iowa debate recently have resulted in a bump in his popularity amongst voters, While Obama’s continued vacations and dismal handling of the economic downturn have resulted in record low approval ratings.

Last month Paul trailed Obama by 4% as the president scored a 41% to 37% lead.

Another significant finding from the new poll indicates that voters not affiliated with either of the major political parties prefer the congressman to Obama by 10 points – 43% to 33%.

The survey also found that voters under 30 prefer the president, while Paul edges the incumbent in all other age groups.

Another newly released Rasmussen poll shows a stark difference in numbers when Obama is pitted against Sarah Palin, whom, if Karl Rove is to believed, will announce her intention to run next week. Palin polls just 33% to Obama’s 50%.

The Rasmussen survey dovetails with a newly released Gallup poll this week, which found that Ron Paul trails President Obama by just 2 percentage points at 47 to 45%.

President Barack Obama vs. Potential Republican Candidates, August 2011

Paul vs Obama would represent the establishment’s worst nightmare on every front.

As previous polls have shown, out of the Republican candidates, only Ron Paul has a realistic hope of success in a hypothetical run off against Obama – the other candidates are equally unpopular as the President.

CNN poll from May 2011 showed that Paul has the best chance among Republicans of defeating Obama in a head-to-head election:

Paul even faired significantly better in the poll than Mitt Romney. The poll found that Romney would lose by 11 points if he got the nomination and went head to head with Obama, whereas Paul only trailed the President by 7 points.

This is telling given the fact that Obama aides have openly admitted they would prefer not to run against Romney. Of course, in line with their corporate media mouthpieces, the White House is still pretending Ron Paul doesn’t exist.

Other recent polls have also placed Paul on a par with Obama.

These surveys yet again demonstrate that Ron Paul is a competitive candidate, despite what the mainstream media would have us believe. Even without the corporate media-promotion and general name recognition, Ron Paul is matched against President Obama (within the margin of error) and only a few points behind the GOP darlings like Perry Romney. The ‘Ron Paul can’t win hoax’ is yet again dispelled by statistical numbers.

“This push for true leadership over the status quo is gaining more support,” said Paul Campaign Manager John Tate this week. “In poll after poll, Americans are eager for real change and looking for a leader who stands for individual liberty and limited government, and who follows the Constitution.”

Ron Paul’s biggest hurdle is still most definitely winning the approval of GOP voters, many of whom are firmly entrenched within the false left right paradigm, rendering them incapable of fathoming Ron Paul’s anti-war stance and humble foreign policy outlook.

  1. I for one get sick of seeing Ron Paul stacked up beside Obongo.

    TO HELL WITH THAT!

Ron Paul should be polling ahead of Henry’s groom by 2 to 1.

By next summer Obongo should be polling negative numbers

to where if they ran a wooden indian against him the indian

    would win by a landslide.

  2. national adults! LOL. now that is funny, I don’t care who you are. national lemmings and sheep.

  3. Ron needs mre of his political friends.
    democracy is all about majority.

  6. I posted this on Michael Medved’s facebook page since he continuously bashes RP. I guess this bugged him because he removed it. He never removes anything but this is something he doesn’t want people to see.

  7. This morning on Fox News The RNC Chairman, Reince Priebus talked about this and pretty much blew Dr.Paul off and the said “If it wasn’t for Him a lot of these issuse wouldn’t even be discused”. Piss on Mr. Priebus. On Sunday Liz Trotta admited that the media conspired to ignor Ron Paul. Come on Mr. Watson,Info-wars this is big news!

  8. Don’t forget to mention that Ron Paul thinks anyone who offers that “9/11 was an Inside Job” is crackers.

    Yea,that means you,Alex.

    • 911 is not Ron Paul’s “fight”.

      • Well, at least he’s willing to stick his neck out for SOME of the real issues. placeofrefuge2012.com

      • Getting mad at RP for not covering 9/11 is like getting mad at Mike Adams for not covering credit default swaps, getting mad at Zero Hedge for not covering GMOs, or getting mad at Geralde Celente for not covering transhumanism.

RP’s main focus is the Federal Reserve, War on Drugs, Police State, and BS wars.

    • Not true. It’s just so controversial. He knows the report was a scam. As usual, Dr. Paul turns our attention away from the bickering and toward the root of the problem… the system that got us here and promotes such corruptions from within. He prefers we focus on the need for us to change it, along with our philosophy of what a government should ‘be’. He’d like to follow the dictates of the constitution but, that takes the backing of a Republic. Us.

    • Kevin Trudeau for Congress? Really? Why would we want to put a convicted felon in Congress who is a lying sociopathic fraud when those are the types we need to get out of D.C.?

      • Who has a better track record?

KT or the lamestream media that demonizes him?
