Jewish settlers began bulldozing land owned by Palestinian citizens from the village of Qasra, in an attempt to seize the land.
In a phone interview given on Sunday, April 29, the head of Qasra’s Village Council, Abdel Azim Wadi, stated that a group of Jewish settlers began bulldozing land owned by Palestinian citizens from the village of Qasra, south of Nablus, in an attempt to seize the land. “The [Palestinian] citizens headed to the targeted area and stopped the bulldozer being used by the settlers in their aggression,” Wadi added. “An Israeli police contingent came to the area and separated the Palestinian citizens and Jewish settlers.They were notified by one of the officers present that investigations were being made with the relevant entities to verify a map which the settlers are using to claim the land belongs to Israel and therefore, that they have the right to use and cultivate it.” Wadi also noted that “this land is owned by citizens from the village, and neither settlers nor the Israeli occupier have a right to it. Over the past years, settlers have been actively harassing Palestinians in an effort to prevent them from cultivating their land, and to make it easier for settlers to seize that land.” The head of the village council stressed that Palestinians would not give up their land for which many have died for.
