The story of Prometheus and its legacy

Prometheus defied Zeus by stealing fire from Mount Olympus to give to mankind, and Zeus punished him for it. The cunning Prometheus had deceived and tricked Zeus one too many times for the sake of mankind, whom he favoured far above the gods.

As punishment, Prometheus was bound to the side of a mountain in the Caucasus by unbreakable chains, to suffer in torment for all time, as a giant eagle would swoop down to devour his liver by day, only for Prometheus to have his liver regenerate by night.

Eventually, however, the eagle was slain by Heracles (Hercules) – no less then the son of Zeus himself – and Prometheus set free, as is depicted in the above illustration.

Prometheus was not only the creator of mankind, but also mankind’s saviour. Not only had he given them fire, but a vast array of skills and knowledge to ensure their survival: writing, mathematics, medicine, agriculture, architecture, metallurgy, navigation, astronomy, and others (as per Prometheus’s admission in the Catalogue of the Arts). This in turn was knowledge that Prometheus had gained from Athena.

Prometheus was a Titan in Greek mythology, a exemplary craftsman held in esteem as the most brilliant of his race. His name translates as “forethought”, and the astuteness of Prometheus was indeed focused on foresight and calculation for the benefit of mankind, rather than on the gods of Mount Olympus, whose self-indulgence and indifference to the suffering of man he scorned.

But Prometheus was more than just all of these things. Much more. He was the seed of an archetype which endures to this very day. Prometheus is tradition, myth, legend, symbol, and archetype, and has provided unending stimulus for the astute minds of Western civilization in many endeavours to draw upon.

The inspiration provided by the Prometheus archetype is well-documented, especially during and ever since the Renaissance, and has heavily inspired new generations of thinkers within a whole range of disciplines, from artists, poets, writers, sculptors, film-makers, engineers, and inventors. His essence and significance remains permanently etched within our civilization.

Indeed, Mary Shelley’s remarkable literary piece Frankenstein was, in full title: Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus. And fittingly, within this piece, we see the end result of the “fire” that Victor Frankenstein breathed into his creation backfiring upon him, with Frankenstein himself being punished just as Prometheus was punished.

Even now, as we slowly carve our way through the 21st century, the Prometheus archetype is anything but dead.

The Prometheus archetype and Western civilization

The Prometheus archetype most definitely holds parallels to the situation our folk find themselves in today.

For just as Prometheus was mankind’s greatest benefactor only to be punished in perpetuity for his actions, so too Western civilization, after providing mankind with the greatest explosion of beneficial contributions that the human race has ever known, is also having its innards gnawed away day after day. And, just as with Prometheus, we are helpless, having been forcibly chained while we look on helplessly as our civilization, and by extension our people, are being eaten alive.

Unlike the case of Prometheus, it is not Zeus or any of the gods on Mount Olympus who are our enemies, but the self-styled gods of this world, who have seen fit to usurp our civilization, plunder its magnificent achievements, and discard us to the side to wither away and die.

There has never been a more despicable, wretched act of treachery than this in the entire sphere of human existence. The self-styled gods of this world have used similar parasitic approaches many times before, but nothing at all comparable to the scale on which it is being used against our people today.

By employing a vicious and carefully-orchestrated web of constant disinformation, distortions and defamation against our people and our history, the gods of this world have crucified and chained us to this rock on which we now find ourselves marooned.

The gods of this world, who are closer to being demonic entities rather than either deity or human, have invented the false equation that Western civilization = eternal oppression, exploitation and cruelty, and that its people are therefore not worth saving. They have selectively magnified, minified, distorted, and lied, only ever focusing on the negative, to the exclusion of all else.

But Western civilization is the birthright of our people. Nobody else’s! Ours! And we are jealously going to take it back.

It is because of our civilization that the lives of approximately 5.0 billion people have been saved! Nobody else’s civilization – ours! It is because of our civilization that 40% of the Earth’s population today can continue to eat. It is largely because of our civilization that the world’s population increased from 2.5 billion to 7.0 billion within the space of 70 years. It is because of our civilization that peoples’ life expectancy in many parts of the world has virtually doubled, and that infant mortality rates have been reduced, and that smallpox has been eradicated, and that a whole multitude of deadly diseases are now preventable, and no longer kill untold millions.

It is because of our civilization that countless, innumerable technologies have been exported to developing nations, creating the very framework of virtually the entire modern world. Our civilization explored the planet, harnessed electricity, perfected engineering principles, created the computer, split the atom, reached the moon, sent probes out into the solar system to observe the planets!

All of these crowning achievements and much, much more. These are accomplishments worthy of the highest level of pride. There has never been any civilization that has even remotely equalled ours. Add up every single achievement from every other culture, society, civilization, people, then multiply it by 100 or even 1000, and you still wouldn’t even be anywhere near the endless myriad of life-saving technologies and beneficial advances that Western civilization has provided for the world. And now look at the thanks our civilization has received for all of this . . .

There are now billions of people on this planet who would not even exist if it weren’t for our civilization. Think about that. Billions. Take away Western civilization, and what do you have? A global population of 2.0 billion? 2.5 billion perhaps? This is a debt that the rest of the world can never repay our civilization for. Not ever. And nor do I think they ever intend to. Most of them despise us. How ironic.

Chained to the rock like Prometheus, being eaten alive. Just look at the wretched, pitiful state so many of our people have been reduced to. The lies, the distortions, the omissions, the propaganda. No pride in their magnificent civilization, only disgust. No pride in themselves as the sons and daughters of Europe, only self-hatred. No condemnation of the disgusting, sickening level of self-entitlement of the “minorities” being allowed to pour into their lands, only submission and self-prostration.

This has to end. The ignorance about our civilization’s glorious achievements, the incalculable number of lives it has saved, and the positives it has brought to the world’s people has to be put right. It is time to aggressively tackle this issue, and start working hard to put and end to this mass delusion that infects the ranks of our people, foisted upon them by the self-styled gods of this world.

All of us who are awake need to be like Prometheus. Our peoples’ spirit is dwindling, and they need the gift of fire – a special kind of fire – the fire of truth about our folk and our civilization, so that the lies can finally be snuffed out for all time. We need this fire to burn and grow in their hearts into a raging firestorm of love, dedication and devotion towards our people, to burn in their hearts and to never go out.

Yes indeed, we who are awake need to become a kind of collective Prometheus – a brotherhood if you will – in order to destroy the mass delusion and save our people and our civilization. Then there will be no limits to what we can achieve.

The Brotherhood of Prometheus does not retreat, does not apologize, does not cower. The fire that burns within us teaches us the truth about our people and our place in this world. We know that only we and we alone can seize our own future, and we shall do so.

And so I ask all of you, dear brothers and sisters: Will you join the Brotherhood of Prometheus, will you defy the gods of this world?

And to this, brothers and sisters, I hope you will all boldly declare with a deafening chorus: “We defy them!”

A new dawn is beginning. A dawn of fire.
