The Underground City Of Los Angelese’s Lizard People

Lizard people allegedly lived under the city and had been doing that for more than 5,000 years. They were an advanced race. The story says that they have gold tablets featuring the origins of the human civilization carved on them and riches too immense to be calculated, just waiting for discovery.

LIZARD PEOPLE ARE TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED AND RELATED TO THE MAYANS

The superior race of Lizard people are said to be related to the Mayans who fled from a meteor shower that was catastrophic and created communities along the Pacific Coast, one of which was located in LA.

The Lizard people are said to be technologically and intellectually advanced and they have been using mysterious chemicals to dig a huge network of 285 tunnels. All of the tunnels are said to be equipped with huge chambers, many of which are big enough to take up to 1,000 families. The families have lived off water and food that is said to have been put into the tunnels by the tribe.

UNDERGROUND CITY OF REPTILIANS (1934 LA TIMES ARTICLE)

The story of the Lizard people comes from a myth told by the Hopi Indian and more specifically a tribesman with the name of Chief Green leaf. The tale was supposedly told to George Warren Shufelt, a mining engineer, back in 1933. Shufelt was behind an invention that he called the radio X-ray machine and he said that it could detect tunnels underground. There was also the promise of a map made out of sheepskin which was said to be in the hands of treasure hunters and in 1933 the tale was the equivalent of it going viral today.

LA TIMES AND ASSOCIATED PRESS HELPED TO SPREAD STORY OF LIZARD PEOPLE

The Los Angeles Times picked up on the story of the quest by Shufelt for the golden treasure belonging to the Lizard people and the Associated Press spread the tale all over the US. The underground city was said to be shaped like a lizard and run from the head of the lizard, which was Elysian Park to the tail, with is the Central Library today.

Shufelt claimed that he had found the exact location of the 1,900 square feet of tunnels along with rooms that had 9,000 feet of floor space and 16 rooms in which gold was stored and he had found this using his X-ray machine. He set about creating a map of all the passages under the surface of Fort Moore Hill. He also received permission from the County Board of Supervisors to start a dig on North Hill Street during the depression and this was watched by many people.

The newspaper reports were speculative and they said that the buried treasure was made up of Spanish gold that had been put there during the colonial period and said that the crew thought they were ready to retrieve it when 28 feet of the shaft had been sunk.

SHUFELT DUG 250 FEET DOWN BUT DID NOT FIND TREASURE OF TUNNELS

A deal was made by Shufelt along with the rest of his team that it would be split 50-50 with the county. The dig was slowed down by many challenges, including mud and dense boulders. There were some experts who had claimed that the dig would have to go down about 1,000 feet.

Shufelt managed to go down about 250 feet but he did not come across any tunnels or treasure. Once the winter had become spring the dig was stopped due to money drying up and slowly the stories of the tunnels and treasure stopped. G. Warren, which is the name he went by during the quest for the Lizard city remained in Los Angeles and lived in North Hollywood, where in November 1957 he died and left a story that, is still talked about today, along with a map that is memorable.
