Terry Sikes was shot at and run over twice by the two Black brigands.

A 22-year-old man was sentenced this week to three consecutive life sentences in prison for his conviction in a 2013 murder and armed robbery.

According to the Office of the State Attorney, Cyrus Anthony Benjamin was involved in a series of crimes in July 2013 that resulted in the death of 56-year-old John Sikes.

Benjamin and a co-defendant reportedly robbed an elderly man at gunpoint at a bus stop on Wesconnett Boulevard before confronting Sikes, who was riding his bicycle.

Cyrus Benjamin attacked the cyclist after first sticking a gun in an old man’s face and robbing him.

Sikes was chased by Benjamin and his co-defendant, who were in a vehicle. He was shot at and run over two times.

Officials said while Sikes was dying at the scene, Benjamin stole his wallet and fled the scene.

Benjamin also received 15 consecutive years for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
