Amir Abdollahian to depart for Moscow tomorrow

Moscow, May 3, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian is to depart for Moscow on Wednesday to discuss regional issues, including Syria.

The aim of his visit to Moscow is to consult with Russian officials the Middle East issues, Iranian embassy in Moscow said.

Talking about Syrian situation and restarting intra-Syrian negotiation in Geneva under the supervision of the UN
are the pivots of Hossein Amir Abdollahian’s talks with the Russian officials.

Meeting with Russian President special envoy for the Middle East Affairs Mikhail Bogdanov is the main part of Iranian deputy foreign minister’s visit to Moscow.

The meeting will take place following the recent negotiations between the UN Secretary General special Envoy for Syrian Affairs Staffan de Mistura with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow and foreign ministers of some countries like the US and Saudi Arabia in Geneva.

Iran and Russia are trying to settle Syrian problems through negotiations and without foreign interferences in Syria’s domestic affairs.
