Human rights report proves UK hypocrisy

The 2011-2012 Human Rights and Democracy Report highlighted the political and social situation in some countries such as Bahrain, Iraq, Israel, occupied Palestinian territories, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

While Bahrainis’ peaceful protests to achieve most primitive social and human rights, have been harshly cracked down by the Saudi-backed Al Khalifa regime, the UK Foreign and Common wealth office (FCO) claimed that the Arab county’s human rights situation has improved from April to June 2012.

This is while that some of the British Police and security officials are cooperating closely with the repressive regime of Bahrain.

The report is released while Saudi Arabia is currently facing the most serious and pervasive anti-regime protests. In recent days, Saudi security forces’ attacks on demonstrators using combat bullets have left three dead.

The FCO’s biased report has turned a blind eye on the deterioration of human rights situation in Saudi Arabia, claiming that the situation has improved during recent three months.
