Israel recognises entry denial of BDS activist

For the first time, Israeli occupation authorities recognised on Tuesday that it had denied entry of foreign BDS activist to Israel.

Israeli occupation authorities announced that they immediately blocked the entry of the BDS activist Isabel Phiri of the World Council of Churches upon her arrival to Israel.

According to the Israeli authorities, the entry denial came as a countermeasure to Phiri’s involvement with the BDS.

Before Phiri’s case, Israel did not announce entry denial of any foreigner based on his anti-occupation activism.

However, several activists complained that they were detained upon their arrival to Israeli terminals, harshly investigated and deported.

Israeli new website claimed that Israel “has long warned it would take action BDS activists but this appears to be the first time it has done it.”

BDS is a global activism movement that adopts activities against the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.

But Israel claims the movement’s ultimate goal is to destroy it and has identified it as a serious threat.

Racist Israeli Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan commented on Phiri’s case, saying: “Boycotters’ place is outside Israel and we shall continue to do everything possible to prevent them from entering our country.”
