The Venezuelan Government has foiled an assassination attempt on the new president of the Bolivarian Republic, Nicolas Maduro.
The interior minister, Miguel Rodriguez, announced the arrest of two groups of Colombian mercenaries, including one operating on the orders of Colombian paramilitary leader “Chepe” Barrera. The investigations underway are looking into the possible links existing between the two groups.
