Rehovot Israel holds a live statue festival
(Scroll down for video) The festive Rehovot Live Statue Festival attracted hundreds of people.
At first glance the statues look like typical granite sculptures but then the statues all come alive at this dynamic and interactive festival.
For the third year running, the Israeli town of Rehovot organized a Statue Live Festival. The three-day event in July had 40 different artists, including 12 elected from Europe, Argentina and Mexico.
The show was free and was intended to encourage people to interact with “statues” that are much more dynamic than static statues we are
used to seeing in town squares around the world.
“It is an event that has become a tradition in Rehovot. Each year the festival grows and attracts more people than in previous years. Festival attendees say it’s an event on an international scale,” the Mayor of Rehovot Rahamim Malul said.
