Just google scrap metal thieves to see the extent of this dilemma.
There is an ant in Australia that digests itself into oblivion as some sort of weird natural “defense” mechanism. Why God created this, or how the hell could it have evolved. Remains to be argued by ignorant experts.
AS this once great nation goes directly to hell, thanks to rotten government, corruption, and unmitigated greed, plus hedonistic, slothful citizens we are experiencing the phenomenon of self-digestion as totally warped individuals use intensive labor to rip equipment apart to sell to unscrupulous fencers.
Nothing better illustrates the evil and depravity we have wrought more clearly than this disgusting behavior.
In the 1950s my family left fishing to make a better living dealing with scrap.
It was a hard, dirty kind of work, but it was good, because the scrap was tossed aside by users of equipment, who purchased new equipment in the cycle of building and improving and growing.
Every aspect of that earlier optimism has vanished. In its place we have scrap thieves—so bad we don’t even have an “ism” to describe it. Heaven should not help us.
