Apple to reveal iPad 3 first week of March

Apple CEO Tim Cook is set to hit the stage in the first week of March to unveil a new iPad.

According to AllThingsD’s sources, Apple will be boasting the heir to the iPad 2 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, which has become Apple’s favorite big announcement venue.

Although the specs of the iPad 3 have yet to be released, sources revealed that the third generation tablet will share the same form as the iPad 2 that we have all grown to love, but it will pack more punch.

According to AllThingsD, the iPad 3 will be “running a much faster chip, sporting an improved graphics processing unit,” and will feature a 2048x 1536 “Retina Display.”

Many iFreaks are anticipating the iPad presentation as this will be the first time Tim Cook will be revealing an iPad product since he inherited the CEO title back in October of 2011.

Buzz on the Internet is alleging the new product will have a different camera module and has many Apple lovers hoping to see an upgrade in the camera department.

According to InformationWeek.com, “these hardware improvements all sound about right, the biggest missing piece of the puzzle is 4G broadband support.”

With ATT and Verizon Wireless budding LTE 4G networks, the very thought of an iPad on a 4G network has many consumers drooling over the possibilities.

Even though this will mark Tim Cook’s second giant media event since the release of the iPhone 4s, this will be a highly scrutinized follow up to last year’s iPad presentation which was delivered by Steve Jobs.

Even though Steve Jobs’ shoes are big shoes to fill, many Apple lovers believe the iPad 3 will make them fall in love with Apple all over again.

The iPad 3 is expected to hit stores two weeks after its debut.
